I don't think they really get the source material. Ramona Flowers was an incredible bitch. Who emotionally destroyed a lot of men and one girl along her path. With the worse incident being the one where she screwed two twin brothers with out them knowing about it which....yeah that's a special kind of fucked up.
I mean one of the themes of the story is both her and Scott are pretty shitty people who need to grow and change.
