A lot of tortured troll logic went into it. Having done some research earlier, the city claimed that if they have homes, the homeless may engage in prostitution, drug dealing, or other illegal activity in them. So apparently the homeless have to stay in tents instead.

The designer of the project suspects otherwise, and points out that when he's building these tiny homes for 1200, it's harder for the city to ask for 2 billion for a new initiative for the homeless that won't do anything.

To be fair, it looks like the guy was leaving the tiny homes under bridges and such and I can see why those would be in the way and irritate people. There have been similar projects that have been more successful in other towns, generally by getting permission from the city first and using private land to build shelter parks.
What's the justification why the City of Los Angeles is doing this ? Wouldn't offering vacant & empty homes be suitable for the homeless ?

There's a different reason everywhere you look. Because other residents complained about them. Because somebody said the tiny homes were an eyesore. Because the homeless might do drugs or engage in prostitution inside the tiny homes. Because the city has (absurdly complex and impossible-to-follow) building codes and zoning laws, but the tiny homes don't follow them.

That last one is the only one that's reasonable, tent cities or cardboard boxes are not any less of an eyesore and the homeless probably won't leave off doing drugs or prostitution due to lack of a tiny parking-space-sized box. However, anything to do with LA Building codes tends to be automatically suspect given how bad they are, and how many of the city's problems are caused by those building codes.

Fox News reporting Pelosi is lobbying Biden to name her US Ambassador to Italy. This tells me she's getting out of dodge because in two months, the Red Wave will be maximum over 600+ across the country.

She should have chosen new Zealand failing at her one job

I believe she had already signaled a long time ago that she was done as Speaker after 2022 no matter what happened. I wasn't aware she was also quitting her job as Representative, though. I'll be curious to see if this rumor is accurate.

The dem's in CA are creating their perfect state. Social programs everywhere. No one is responsible for the mistakes. They're chasing all the people that oppose their policies OUT of CA so the voting pool shrinks and empowers the Dems at the same time. The dream of a non-fossil fuel energy sector is happening. (Mind you, it's a nightmare.) And Newsome is getting ready for his Presidential bid.

So...yeah, it's going great for them...

California could benifit a lot from solar our geography does allow it to be a useful power supliment expecially during the summer. But the shrinking population base and the fleeing businesses create a massive problem which is the tax base. Because all of those policies, those social programs those everything cost money.

Pretty much any one who pays attention knows we are a speeding train heading towards a wall thats why you see our polititions buying property in florida and other parts of the country on the opasit side of the continent. Their not stupid they know this cant last.

Now what Pelosi should have done and the reason why we tolerated her bullshit was one singular purpose to get a federal bailout. These last two years were the window to make it happen. Instead she helped put the country through the Jan 6th issue which made the very expensive deal we needed to happen more expensive and she dithered on that instead of doing her job.

And the people with actual power in this state....their not happy about it.

You see right now its all smiles and rainbows and a circuling of the wagons but every one knows the state is fucked in the long term and every ones playing hot potato hoping their not the one running the place when it all blows up. Newsome might very well be in charge when it does and when that happens his presidential dreams turn to shit.

Do they really think this is going to save them from the lynch mobs?

depends on how high profile they are.

For Pelosi, its not got going to be a lynch mob that gets her, a whole lot of very important people spent years giving her a whole lot of money. The tech industry, the entertainment industry and a bunch of other very important people in this state put their necks on the fucking line because we fully understood how fucked they were.

The situation was such that laws were broken and some very important people can go to jail for what they did on her behalf, and then she fucked everything essentially out of spite.

No she's not going to be killed by a lynch mob, she's going to be epstined quite simply put she fucked up a very very important job and I fully expect her to die in an accident.

For the state governor who gets stuck being in control? They might need to flee the country, the state senators are fucked but below that you are probally safe if things go tits up by fleeing to the other side of the country because your low profile enough that your not going to be on enough peoples radar.

In other words you either want to be very high up or very low on the ladder and the people in between are fucked, if things go completely tits up.
