Well, some plants like the Venus Flytrap are carnivorous. There also over 150 species of carnivorous Sea Sponge.
There are already carnivorous plants that eat small mammals in Africa. Why not a larger kind of predatory plant. Such a creature is not impossible.

Impossible to catch anything larger then rodents.For killing humans it need some method of immobilize them after they fall there.There are already carnivorous plants that eat small mammals in Africa. Why not a larger kind of predatory plant. Such a creature is not impossible.

By the way,i remember from commie times some Czech comedy/actually good/ about villain who come to Prague before WW1 with human eating plant,but in the end get eaten by it.Forget title,as usual.
Pity,it was good comedy.
Plants which kill rodents - sure.Capable of killing humans - i do not think so.

Could be,i remember another comedy which was parody of Western.Lemonade Joe,i think.
It also was good.
Interesting thing - czech in commie times made many good movies.
Mammoths - some russian hunter saw them in 1908,and considering that dude never hear about mammoths and said about hairy elephants,it is probably true.
Congo - brontsaur,triceratops and stegosaur like beast was described by locals who never hear about dinosaurs,so they existed.But,considering number of rebels and cyvil wars there,they must be long ago eaten.
Spider that big should not be possible to exist - becouse it could not breathe.
Snake and crocodile - possible,but probably long eaten,too.

One of the few things I liked about Fallout 76 was the inclusion of Cryptids into the Appalachian Wasteland which is a bit unfortunate since I'm not really sold on it as really adding much to the settings character even if some of the Cryptids are fun and neat.
Cloning of what? bones there do not survive long.If locals eaten last one 10 years ago,there is nothing left of it skeleton now.

Bigfoot = Gigantopithecus.
Plausible explanation,just like for yeti and whatever lurk in Siberia.Almaz,i think.
