Yeah, I'm an atheist but I don't have anything against Christians and it rubs me the wrong way when people in entertainment pick on them.

I feel much that way too, though I'd prefer that entertainment roast everyone equally, preferably only a light roasting, unless this is something more hardcore than South Park.

I mean, one of the strengths of the portrayal of Homelander is that Homelander knows his upbringing fucked him up. If there's one thing his conversations with the lab head make clear it's this: that he, at least instinctively, if maybe not intellectually, knows that he'd turned out different if he'd been placed in a loving family rather than a lab cell.

That’s because they’re an easy and acceptable target alongside anybody with a Southern accent who’s also white, they’re all supposed to be dumb, dangerous, small minded idiots and it would be considered “relevant” to the times “satire” even if I’m pretty sure the Church has mostly cleaned up its act to be really tolerant of LGBT and other religions....most problem I see is the whole “pedophile priest” stuff

Speaking of Pedophile Priests.....they replaced “Oh Father”....you know I’d like to turn that around and say the showrunners are racist for changing POC for white dudes

You can’t do the same with Muslims though, even if their religion has FAR more power over daily life and the state on average. Ironically I blame 9/11.

I've only seen the first two episodes so far but I like what I've seen, just haven't gotten around to watching the rest of it just yet.

They're bullies. For people in Hollywood, there are essentially no negative repercussions for attacking Christianity. They will be praised by their peers and colleagues. It is the essence of being a bully, because it's cowardly - attacking a victim who wont fight back and for whom you will be praised for attacking. At least praised by everybody that matters in your life.

Are you still a bully if you say you’re hunting “bullies”?

Nah, this “bully and massive hypocrite” is the real hero and “underdog” of the story

All you mysogynerds are why “Nerd Culture” sucks so much, we(The Cool Kids)are here to show how much it’s grown up without you

Your sarcastic comment rings so true. It showcases these people's lack of any self-awareness or self-introspection.

Say, is the Tv Show version kf The Boys including SwingWing? You know, the fake gay superhero who’s actually straighf and a homophobe

Because frankly, it was one show aside from James Sitwell’s proposal that Homelander “Go Blue for awhile” in the comic that they were ready, able and already playing both Democrats and Republicans.

Pretending to be Pro-LGBT and Pro-Minorities even by diversity hires was sort of what made them kinda worse.

Indeed, and I am making a serious response to that. We all need to support religious liberty for all, from the smuggest fedora tipper to the most frothing mouthed fanatic.
Look, if you want a serious response, I have to point out that the joke "you'll make yourself religious eventually" doesnt actually contradict the ideal of religious liberty.
If I'd made the joke "don't worry, we'll fix that" or something along those lines, fair enough, forced conversion is the punchline there.

The let me try something, I got an idea. Maybe, I should buy you a fedora and a katana so that you might become enlightened by your intelligence and thus euphoric?

Though in all seriousness, let us get back to discussing the Boys. I am sure you like the whole overall.

When the comic was being written, the Ennis had Pegg in mind for being the protagonist but he's a bit too old to play the role which is why they have him play the father.

I quite liked The Boys though I'd thought Black Noir (I think? I'm terrible for names) would have done more, his silent shtick is quite weird and it's hard to put a handle on him. I'm guessing he becomes a bigger deal in the second season?

It is still pretty good.

The frist season had some good character driven drama. I especially like the sub-plot about Starfire.

The second season with Stromfront was decent. The plotline with V coming out and not sinking Vought was actually nice to see. They are a large compnay and just like the many scandals real companies survive and exposing them is a obstacle. Stromfront has some good and high points. Some good points is that most of the compnay was unaware about her being a Nazi. Most of Vought "evilness" is just them chasing money. I did think that all the hints about Stromfront where a bit on the nose given the real life poltics of the time. Dogwhistling and making everything a dogwhistle has been a common tactic to paint everyone on the other side evil.

The thrid season good so far. I do like how A-Train got called out on his double standards. He loved when Vought coved up his crimes, did not care that he lead to Homerander killing someone. But now that bis brother was effected he now cares.

Someother points I do like is how surface level Woke culture is. I work in Corporate Amercia and while there are some true believers most of the people spouting the cause of the week don't care. So you basically get people following along becasue of cultural pressure. It also why you see all the tone deaf ads like A-Trains new uniform in season three or Brave Mave stuff in the background.

The show does a good job with backgound details. Small plot points and stuff like Raise of the Seven are seen though the seasons making the Boys actually feel like a built out world.
