I wonder, just how exactly would they deal with the creators who decided that they should start pushing their rather un-Fun politics to the extreme whilst making changes to stuff that didn’t need them

As well as the ones who got in via nepotism, without even needing to be related to someone important at that

Now I doubt Chris Matthews actually meant to equate Bernie Sanders, who IIRC lost many relatives in the Holocaust, with the German military that conquered France in 1940, but it's still pretty amusing seeing MSNBC turn on itself, especially with how Chris Matthews is basically a definition of the liberal/Democrat establishment and how acrimonious the relationship between the Sanders campaign, the DNC amd mainstream news outlets have been.

Chris was just trying to impress his smart friends with his grasp of pop history.

Oh Chris, Chris, Chris, you poor, out of touch man. He's been having more than a few moments where his inner Baby Boomer is on full display recently, the most prominent being the one where he said the communists would have mass executions in central park if they'd taken over during the cold war, followed by-gasp-making derisive statements about Fidel Castro. I wondered when his unfiltered moments would lead to him getting "retired" by MSNBC.

They really would have had mass executions, and honestly central park is probally one of the locations they would have those exicutions in during the early purges. And Fedel Castro was an asshole.
