Star Wars The Bad Batch

Those people (More than likely Fandom Menace) can shut the hell up. The Bad Batch is a great series and a worthy follow on to the Clone Wars.
There's a lot I agree with the Fandom Menace on (e.g. Geeks and Gamers), but I can't agree with their decision on the Bad Batch. I like the series.

Seeing the Clone Troopers act like organic droids/proto-Stormtroopers after the Chip's activation is just heartbreaking, especially as we got to know them as people over the course of the Clone Wars. That's great storytelling, as it's evoking emotion.

Indeed it is. Season 7 of the Clone Wars was Heartbreaking at the end. I wanted the 501st to fight off the order so bad.

Jesse hit hard, as did the clones who painted their helmets in Ahsoka's likeness. I also remember the pilot Ahsoka saved on Mandalore, where she cut him out of his cockpit so he could eject. "Thanks, Commander!"

He was undoubtedly one of the clones trying to kill her, post-66.

Just a few episodes ago, Jesse was standing up for Rex; then, he was trying to kill him as a "traitor".

It hit hard. And that's a good thing, as it did its job of making me, the watcher, feel.

Now that KK has basically been booted out on her ass (good fucking riddance, the misandrist bitch) and Dave is in charge, we might see SW saved -- even if it all leads to Rise of Skywalker, unless they do something to retcon things, like relegate the Shitquel Trilogy to a forever-unused alternate timeline, or something.

What issue does the phandom menace have with bad batch? My only serious criticism of it is that it follows too closely to the Mandalorian formula. But so far its had good stories, good characters, good lore and some fun fan service.

So with the revelation that Boba Fett has a LEGIT sister and not just a Template Sister, I have to wonder something. They've made great pains to show the Bad Batch teaching her all of the basics of being a mandalorian commando. Stealth, hand to hand, marksmanship, demolition, medical training and tech. Put these things together and you have the recipe for a top tier bounty hunter or mercenary/hero for hire. Are they Setting Omega up to be Boba's rival and foil in the Book of Boba Fett?

That would be cool.

However I'm still not convince she's a pure sex-swap clone of Jango; she has seeming Force sensitivity and that leads me to think she has Palp DNA mixed in.

I think Omega is likely to be Rey's mom, and the subject of the 'Mark Omega' project mentioned during the hunt for the Death Star plans on Scariff in Rogue One.

What that all turns out to mean, and what Omega becomes...well, only Filoni and co know that.

I'd rather they not acknowledge the ST. If nothing else I don't want to acknowledge the holdo maneuver.

Indeed it was heartrending. I have a feeling Dave, John and George are gonna retcon the sequels so much they won't match what we saw in the theaters. The World Between Worlds is the key. The entire Sequels can be turned into one of many POSSIBLE futures. And not an ironclad one.

That's one of their criticisms. I can sort-of see it, too. But, I don't see it as a bad thing.

Other points of critique are things like "the ratings have fallen off a cliff for the show", "doom! DOOOM!", "It's the Omega Show, not the Bad Batch being commandos", and "It's like a sub-season (9) of the Clone Wars than its own show".

I hope this episode finally shuts up the group of people wondering why the Bad Batch was having so much trouble in combat. Oh I don't know they had chips in their heads that were wonking their brains. Now they don't and they are back to normal.

So omega is a strategist?
It makes sense. Having a kid-character may be a Disney-mandated thing, but Filioni is a good enough writer to actually make her a competent character in her own right, and turning her into a bad-ass fighter doesn't make sense with the rest of the crew. So making her the strategist makes sense.

It was nice seeing the Bad Batch in their competence zone again. Also nice to see a competent client in the senator - he may not have been a fighter, but he did not second-guess the professionals he hired, and did contribute when he was able (with his knowledge of his own city, or the random thrown vase).

The Senator gave me a kindly Uncle Vibe. I guess because he reminded me of my late Uncle Buster.

The latest episode....we are in for a ride now.

'When Hera met Omega' should be the real title for the episode. I have a feeling the Sid is going to be getting a call again right quick.

Indeed. Dave is laying the ground work for Omega to appear as an adult in later live action series. Maybe as a Ranger of the New Republic.

I hate to say it but, i've gotten sick of the new republic. Even in the EU the idea of the new republic was primary shown to be pipe dream. the galaxy is just too freaking big for a massive centralized government.
I think we can blame part of that on Borsk Fey'lya's unabashed desire for power and glory; dude straight up tried to undermine Ackbar during the Thrawn Crisis for what amounts to a bit of political advantage in the NR High Council.

Also on Mon Mothma's desire to restore the Republic to it's former glory, without her really thinking too hard about why it was in a position to fall in the first place.

The most long lasting and successful govs in the galaxy were those that only tried to control a limited territory close to their homeworld's/main economic hubs. Hapes, the Chiss, the Hutts, the Bothans; all had limited teritory, but withstood a lot of the chaos that was endemic in the rest of the galaxy.
