Very few British cops are allowed to carry a firearm while on duty.

One one hand the NYPD does have a point about them being "air rifles" since they do launch projectiles. On the other hand, it's not a very good one since they're designed to be toys even less destructive than a paintball gun.
Whatever happened to the good 'ole super soaker or the even older squirt gun? Those, a garden hose, and a bag of balloons were lots of fun on a sunny summer day way back when.

Now a few days ago, the same Youth was stopped by police in East Harlem for jumping a turnstile and after a three minute verbal altercation with police officers, he and the sixteen year old Girl he was with started fighting with the NYPD officers, throwing punches at them and even attempting to put the police officer in a chokehold/headlock. Both were arrested... and then promptly released without bail with the case going to 'Family Court' to avoid bringing the Minor into the Adult Incarceration System.
During the trial, the Assailant asked the Judge if he could "press charges."
Last April, this same fine young man was arrested for carrying a loaded handgun and a crossbow in a vehicle within the borough of Brooklyn.
