As I pointed out before, no, that's not what happened in this case. You go to prison if you cross the line from self defense into assault. There's no self defense move that involves repeatedly a man kicking a guy as he's curled up the ground. That's just assault, even if he started it.

Self defense law allows you to use force, even lethal force if needed, to make someone else stop attacking. It does not mean you get to do whatever the fuck you want as long as the other guy throws the first punch, once they back down or are out of the fight, you have to stop as well.

There's a solution: Adapt the same strategy that Antifa and their backers use. They are fundamentally cowards. The moment they realize they are not safe anymore, they will scurry and hide like rats.

Cowards don't run around deliberately starting fist fights, even if they think they won't get caught. Antifa, and at least in this case the PB, are just a bunch of meathead idiots who want the satisfaction of personally beating up thier political opponents, but lack the foresight or intelligence to anticipate the consequences of their actions. That's why things calmed down a bit after someone actually died, because then they couldn't write this off as a bit of consequence free fisticuffs.
