Setting standards on a local government when you are not part of that local government is big/central government. If you believe in local government then you should be ok with local communitiies deciding to give former felons a chance to be cops IF the local people are ok with it.
Better than central government deciding to make former felons cops for areas that leftists in the government don't like and calling it social justice.
I get the appeal of having a right wing government stop leftists from doing stupid shit even in their worst hives, but let's not put the cart before the horse, try getting such a right wing government into power and with such a margin to be able to do that first.
Is Poland a crappy country because the Lublin voividship has very little autonomy from the central government?
Yeah, smaller government would be better.
After all Poland is a unitary state not even federal like the US.
Do you honestly think that if Poland changed it's government to become a federal or confederation style system things would get better? Muh small government is good is silly.

Poland is far more homogeneous in ethnic, religious and cultural terms than USA, probably more than most states even, and is smaller than a some states.
Of course small countries don't need the level of federalism massive ones do.
Unless they are divided culturally, like Switzerland, which also has a highly decentralized system and it works really well for them.
Meanwhile China has a lot of cultural divisions but has all-powerful central government, is it something to be jealous of?
Do you think USA is more divided or homogeneous?
