United States Predictions of a Biden Presidency

What do they have to hide, if they are so averse to investigations? Surely if they are innocent, then they can withstand the same sort of investigations that the GOP and Trump had foisted on them...with much less reason to boot.
Expect more of this...

If you recall, the term "whataboutism" became a big term for them to use as a coping mechanism when Trump got elected. Idk how far back that term goes, but it got big with Trump.

Why? Because they attacked everything Trump did. Every little thing. Including things the left, Obama, and presidents in general have done for years. Standard things. (when he made a speech at Mt. Rushmore they said he was making a speech in front of racist slave owning traitors ffs) So a pretty common comeback to their complaining was "well what about when Obama did this for 8 years and you didn't care?"

And instead of having to address their hypocrisy, they'd shut their eyes, plug their ears and shout "whataboutism!" As a way to dismiss you.

Now when the right tries to investigate Biden in the same way the left did did Trump, (except there are credible legal claims against the Biden family,) the left will rage about it. And we can say "well what about when your side was doing this to Trump, with no evidence?"

Then they can froth at the mouth and shout "whataboutism!" At us all over again.

Don't expect any kind of consistency in their views. These people will believe what they're told and change their views when told. It doesn't matter if it's hypocrisy or inconsistent with their previously held views. It's why you can't have a conversation with them. Their views are pliable and changed when needed. They don't ever need to remain consistent. If the Lemons and Maddows tell them to believe something, their beliefs change.

Don't ever underestimate their capacity for double think. Something can be simultaneously bad and good, depending on what their corporate media masters tell them to think.

You can watch the double think in real time. "There is no evidence of voter fraud, Trump's lawsuits are being thrown out left and right," is one leftist message. Then they'll turn to someone else and say "Biden needs to raise 30 million to fight the legal battles over this election."

Wait, if there's no evidence and they're being thrown out, why does Biden need that 30 million for legal defense?

Both of these things really contradict one another. It requires double think to not question it.

2+2=5.

Biden will spend most of his time rooting out everything Trump did, root and branch. How successful he is depends on whether or not we can hold him in the Senate? If we can? Then Biden is a one-termer along the lines of Gerald Ford. If he does take the Senate? The I expect he will be shoved out within two years by Harris and her ambitious lot because they will want to do as much as they can before the midterm slaughter takes place where the GOP will definitely take the Senate and probably the House.

More than that, they do not believe their adversaries have any legitimacy moral or intellectual. That is the essence of their complaints about "both sidesism", they believe they are righteous and their enemies evil. Therefore heads for them, tails for their enemies.

Its actually quite a consistent worldview, "we good, you bad". Everything they do and say comes down to this crude principle.

the good news is that the number of people under the enemy category just keeps growing the list of people they hate keeps growing give it enough time and their going to be outnumbered by all the people they fucked over.

Rules for thee but not for me.

Ah, the classic refrain of a debased elite. From what I understand haven't most influential writers asked for the opposite, alongside the majority of people. That the elite should be held to higher standards? I mean they should generally know better, yet they always get away with much more or get punished much less than some petty criminal schmo.

I am thinking the elite are the problem, not just in the USA, but across many nations and that we need to remove them from their positions- or the rotten ones rather- so that people who actually merit it can take their place. Pipe dream I know, but can't a man dream of a better and more just world? If only to soothe his melancholy and to give some temporary placation to his sense of justice?

Now, that you mention it, I can recall it vividly enough. They used it so much they sounded like parrots, or even those dolls with the pull strings, and I'd wager they'd cry out "mama" as much as they dolls too. As I remember, such a term is called a "thought-stopping cliche", and is used to prevent cognitive dissonance or shut down conversation...so yep, it applies!

I think it is best to call them on it being what it is, and that they are trying to stop the conversation from happening, because they are afraid, because they don't want to think, because (insert particular reason applicable to the situation and true here), and so on. They aren't going to be any of any particular thing all the time, but they are still going to have a reason for doing so. The big CD is almost all of the time going to be the reason, or the casual factor for them.

So we need to call them on this, and call them hard. Tell them, no, this isn't your whataboutism bullshit, this is comparing like situation to like situation, or it is important to hold standards. Or turn the accusation against them, and weaponize it. And then when they complain, you point out all the times they use it.

Prediction: Biden will bypass the lack of legislative support by simply ignoring the separation of powers. The precedent set by Governor ordered lockdowns shows us that court reactions to dicatorships is far too slow and ineffective to actually prevent unconstitutional action.

People say "It is only for two weeks so we kill the virus!" then it turns out we are lockdown for two three months and the economy is so bad we are in a great depression but hey, we beat COVID right?

I literally had an argument just like this with someone yesterday

All the lock-downs have done is prove how vulnerable the US is to dictatorship.

If you can destroy the economy and restrict the most basic of freedoms with an executive order, you can do anything else.

Exactly! People are ignorant about it though, and think it will be a simple two week lockdown to kill the virus and then it ends. I made the argument that states like MI and PA had strict lockdowns for a damn long while, but they were like "They opened up like everyone..". This is what happens when you have people who do not do their own research. They take the media at face value.

Prediction! Peace with Marxists and Communists International!

If you think a GOP controlled Senate will stop the Democrats from doing anything, you don't remember the Obama administration. Sure, they put forward a token effort; but for the most part, the Republicans amounted to little more than controlled opposition.

Who knows, you have some Republicans with spines, and as this insanity goes on there seems to be an incredible thunking as Republicans find their spines suddenly returning to them.

And if they do a token effort, they will be replaced. Again the times are achanging.

They really hated cocaine Mitch's stubbornness.

Assuming we ever have a legitimate election again. I suspect the Republicans who stick to their principles will find themselves facing Democrat opponents who win agaisnt them with record-high voter turnouts (somewhere in the realm of 120%) in their next election; assuming they don't just get primaried by Republicans more "passive" in nature.
