Politicians and Government Cringe Thread

Uh, please, find me another politician who has dared to go against the Mouse openly, publicly, and meaningfully the way DeSantis has already done.

I have seen no evidence DeSantis is the 'uniparty trojan horse' that so many keep implying he is.
And I hope he's not.

Perhaps I'm just being a bit cynical, but with how much of a dumpster fire the world is at the moment, could you blame me?

Also, the Left sacrificing Disney is something I can easily see. The Left eat their own, after all.

This is it, I fear. 2020 did a number on all our mental states, but you must not let it completely colour your view of the world. Times in history where trust has been lost in the establishment can oh so easily totter over into insanity. Fight it.
Oh, I've been cynical for a lot longer than 2020, but that year was the shitty icing on an even bigger shit-cake.

Wow, Trump really isn't drawing the crowds like he used to.

Oh yeah because Trump would do a rally in a hurricane. That would be a great idea. I see people are even pretending meteorology is a exact and perfect science to try and ignore the fact the warnings were issues a while ago and you can't just risk and ignore tornado warning for a whole ass rally the same way you can for a outdoor BBQ.

DeSantis fags are getting pathetic. DeSantis won't even admit he is running for POTUS why should I trust him?

Except there was legit nothing there.
And like...literally.
All it takes is a phone call to the local airport he was gonna fly into.

Hurricane warnings aren't issues on the day, they tend to happen a while before. There is nothing there now and the rally could happen, yes that is right and is the case now. But a rally is a biglt bigger than a cookout like what DeSantis did which means it isn't as easy to just change the hours and move around.

Not to mention like I said this is hardly the massive W DeSantis people seem to think when all other rallies have been going normally, and the fact Trump still recovered voting intentions on polls and had a CNN town hall where he humiliated CNN by not only trashing down their arguments but also by making them agree to a Townhall in the first place because he is the only thing they have that can pull any sort of views.

This argument would work better if there were some actual numbers being shown. What was the public on Trump's rallies for the claims he is "falling off" compared to DeSantis? What is the event that DeSantis is at exactly? Is it actually only a DeSantis rally or is it some GOP in general thing or is it something else? How long ago was the Trump Rally canceled? Things like that.

I live in Iowa. There was indeed a Tornado warning across the middle of the state, including the county I live in.

It's a warning. You don't know if it's actually going to show up or not.

And as a purely utilitarian risk calculus, holding an event in spite of being warned, is a good way to get a lot of people killed, given the tens of thousands that would have come out for a Trump rally.

The fuck is even going on?
Apparently, one group representing a Democrat candidate (Nasri Warsame, a black man from Somalia) running for a local election attacked another at a Democrat convention, because they were upset the latter's candidate (Aisha Chughtai, a Muslim woman who's parents came from Pakistan) was about to receive the endorsement of the party for her reelection.

So importing their third world shithole problems to the US. I'm of the opinion that foreigners should not be allowed to participate in US politics until like the third generation born here. Too many people from those countries bring their baggage with them and it just causes nothing but problems.

This is exactly what this is. They're literally bringing Old World grudges to your political and cultural system.

Also, I'd say "second generation" at least, since they're raised/born American, but even then the parents would influence them at home with, well, Old World baggage.

It's a stereotype, but a second generation Mexican-American, for example, would be American born and raised but still have a deep connection to Mexican culture because of her parents and how they were raised at home; their kids, however, the third generation, would probably only pay lip service to all the shit their parents and grandparents do while they'd just be typical Americans.

The Irish and later Italians both did the same exact bullshit as well. Brought old world baggage with them and it fucked over multiple generations.
