I'm not ATP, but... guy was a dumbass, from what little I know about him. He was politically adept, but nearly lost Stalingrad. And before then, every time he faced a competent German general, he lost the battle. Mostly because he absolutely refused to account for... well, the enemy. While he was good at technical side of things - managing his own troops - he'd act as if the enemy was just going to bend over and accept the kick. So every time he ran across a competent opponent (von Paulus, Model) he received a beating, unless literally everything was stacked in his favor beforehand (as at Stalingrad).

Becouse in 1941 he was send to command soviet forces fighting germans in bigger tank battle ever near Równy.Germans had 800 tanks and tank destroyers,soviets more then 4.000 including many KV1 and T.34.
He lost.In 3 days.
In 1942,when soviet encircled german 6 army,he keep attacking german 9A loosing 1 milliom KIA and getting nothing/operation Mars/
Even in 1945 he manage to destroy his 2 tank armies in Berlin fighting old dudes and teenagers.

Basically,he win only when he have at least 5:1 numerical advantage still losing more soldiers then enemy.Everybody could do so.

Yes.Soviets made many myths after 1941,genial Zukow is just one of them.
And - they had good commanders,like Koniew or Malinowski who do not butcher their soldiers ,but - for unknown reasons they were less popular.
Maybe becouse Zukow helped remove Beria and co-ruled soviets with Kruzsczow till he removed him from power ?
No other soviet general had so much power.
