Politicians and Government Cringe Thread

I think this might have actually caused more damage to their own agenda than anything they did to Trump. What a complete mess..

@Spartan303 At this point Ronald Sandoval would be a better FBI director :ROFLMAO:

hopefully after the democratic establishment implodes it will be replaced with leadership that leaves people be and governs responsibly.

It might not be likely but my ultimate goal is a world where people live and let live. I want the religious to be able to worship in peace. Gun owners to continue owning weapons and hunt in peace. Where people agree to disagree on a whole lot of stuff. Essentally I would be happier is the world was a lot more boring.

I'm so confused. Are they preparing for a Pence 2024 presidential ticket? Is the RINO chunk of the GOP that insane?

Realistically the party has been purged enough by this point that the remaining people understand that there has been a political realinment and Pence is pretty much done. I think were looking at pence joining the democratic party in the near future.

I mean, the democrats are functionly insane. But is there anyone insane enough to think that a blue Pence has any kind of voting base?

Cheney is burning down the house on her way out essentially. Or she's genuinely deluded enough to think there are still Republicans left not in the leadership that want a neocon restoration.

The Pence simping last night made zero damn sense. Even the religious right repudiated him and he gets booed out of religious events and all he has are cucks defending him online as a refuge.

Pence could run...as a democrat.

Pence/Paneta 2024?

The glow in the dark and the apostate?

Do you guys remember that in the mid-terms during Trump's administration and in the run-up to the 2020 election (also for Congress!), they did everything they could in an attempt to get Republicans and independents to vote for "moderate, reasonable" Republicans? There was the whole astro-turf "Lincoln Projects", and they even had a bunch of Hollywood types from popular films (like what's-his-name, the Captain America actor) appeal to Republican voters to "make the right choice". Hollywood types, who usually have NOTHING but contempt vor Republicans, then suddenly started talking about "our Republic" and "we're all in this together, reject division!"

Well. They're trying that again. Why? Because they hope it'll work. Because at the end of the day, the Democrats and the RINOs are "in it together". They are one party. The Establishment UniParty.

So why the shilling for Pence? Why the shilling for all "moderate, reasonable" Republicans? (Who are in fact RINOs.) Why? Because they want to weaken the Red Wave as much as they can. They know that a Republican victory is likely. They know that in '24, somone like DeSantis may well get into power. And they want to narrow his Congressional support as much as they can. So if Republicans are going to win... they want as many RINOs in the ranks as possible! Useful traitors, who can subvert a new MAGA administration's agenda, just like they subverted Trump's agenda.

This may even be a winning strategy, because while the economy is already shit, it's set to become much worse. We're heading for a major downturn; worse that 2008. And this probably ensures that someone like DeSantis wins in '24. But he'll inherit a wrecked economy, which can't be fixed in just four years. If they can sabotage that administration, and if they can blame the fact that nothing gets better for four years on the President... then the Democrats win again in '28, the RINOs can dismiss MAGA as "twice got in power, twice failed to get anything done", and then they take the GOP back to the old stand-by.

Ronald Sandoval was actually competent at one point. Season 1. By season 2 his destruction as a Character was well under way. Sandovals run remains one of the best episodes in the entire series bar none.

Pence isn't going to do that. For one, what few Republican support he does have would evaporate. Aside from the Lincoln project, and those guys are Persona non grata in the new Republican party. The thing is, despite the Establishment praising him, the base Democrats hate his guts and would love to murder him. Hell many openly admitted that during Trumps time. So he'd be even less welcome there. Especially the Alphabet community who hate him for the gay conversion therapy stuff. I have no idea if any of that is true or not, but they believe it and thats all that matters.

I suspect Pence will just retire and fade away. Its probably his best options at this point as he's literally blown all his bridges.

But he did give us the Mike Pence rule. And that one is a fairly good one to adopt no matter who you are.

I guess DeSantis is set to be our second Gracchi brother then.

Things seem to be heading in that direction. Funny thing is, I thought it would take longer, that we'd only see the resurgence of MAGA come '28. But the Democrats (and their RINO friends!) seem dead-set on burning everything down.

Which makes my cynical self suspect that it might be just intentional. A ruined country to pass off to their enemy, a poisoned chalice. It's psychopathic and perverse, but then -- that's exactly what the establishment has become, by this point.

Don’t disagree, per se, but honestly, this is why I feel that another sixty(-ish) to eighty(-ish) years for everything to come crashing down is rather long.

Without this, it may have taken longer, but the hubristic accelerationism of our current set of elites leads me to believe things will become untenable about mid-century, rather than gradually crumbling as the twenty-first century wraps up. I don’t expect it all to come crashing down in ten years, but roughly a hundred (or so) years after the last international crisis? … Yeah, that sounds a lot more plausible to me. :(
