peter Zeihan 2020

this is one of those cases where I don't think Peter Zeihan understands domestic politics and it quite clearly shows. Tuberman is playing hardball to get needed consessions out of the democrats which is needed because the Biden adminstration is fucking with the military to consolidate power at any and all costs.

Such measures may not be nice but its most likely better for the military as a service for the long term.

basically china's latest brag isn't as impressive as they say it is, and its only possible because their willing to throw money and people at a problem which isn't going to work forever.

I don't know if I would consider Union workers much of a swing group. The managers and leaders favor the left. The actual workers? they know that the dems look down on them. Republicans actually have a fair chance at holding them if they don't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and drive them away.

Dude, this shit goes back to at least a year or two before covid never mind the current floods. But now it's so obvious that even the MSM can't hide it.

Id say that China's structural problems like the structural problems for most countries have been building up for decades. Though its always a bit annoying that the MSM is willing to cheerlead for any country that isn't their own.

essentially hydrogen has potential but we need to be smarter about energy production and that we need to do more experments and smarter.

Using ammonia for hydrogen fuel purposes is not a conventional route, but it is absolutely doable with the right equipment, and an ammonia spill is inconvenient, it's not a long term hazard, nor is it terribly flammable on it's own for shipping and transport purposes.

I still think that hydrogen fuel cells are not worth it, simply because hydrogen does not like to be confined or contained, and can slip though a lot of seals that work for other things. That's just particle physics and hard engineering limitation in a way we seen play out again and again; there is a reason pure hydrogen for fuel hasn't had a great rep since the Hindenburg.

essentially the Armenians lost the war and there will be ethnic cleansing.

Unless Armenia can somehow win the good graces of Georgia they are fucked in the long run. None of their other neighbors are going to tolerate their existence long term and Azerbaijan has hatred of Armenia as a national good. I'm trying to research the local situation, but do we know why Georgia carries a grudge against Armenia?

Georgia is kinda neutral. Probably will allow trade and commercial access to ports, but without Russia pushing its influence further there or outright invasion, most likely won't allow Russian military transit to Armenia, as they have their very own beef with Russia right now.

Essentially if one guy dies Russia could be made to bleed hard, or if outside powers supported different fractions you could also make Russia bleed. Chechya can be used to give Russia an ulcer.

Mercenarys make for terrible troops

Eh, this is more a matter of faith than historical example. Mercenaries worked quite well for the Spanish empire for quite a while. Hannibal had a basically mercenary army, and he did quite well there too. They operate differently, so they optimize differently, but saying their blanket "terrible" isn't really true.
