So now the idiotic Leftist meme about the hand gesture means it is being add to the ADL's list of official hate symbols. The ADL, like the Southern Poverty Law Center, has become a partisan farce compared to what it used to be.

They do specifically note it's origins in chan-parody bullshit and "By 2019, the symbol was being used in some circles as a sincere expression of white supremacy,” With that 'some circles' as seemingly being the operative phrase there.

So it's...overly-expansive, perhaps, but my loose understanding is that the ADL is still on-board with context being a thing--Tarant's use of it is as a symbol of white supremacism, someone like LeBron James flashing it (or, in general, the context of it being used in a basketball game or the like) wouldn't be.
Which I suppose just makes the solution to be normal people using it whenever they like and drowning out the white supremacy usage? I dunnow.
