So, I originally intended to post this in another thread, that has since been locked to avoid dissent:
Now, obviously the new management are entirely within their rights to be as arbitrary as they'd like, and I'll even go so far as to admit I was one of the people to report this post. I knew it was breaking new "rules" and will always follow such to the best of my ability. Regardless of how arbitrary or poorly communicated they are. If the new management plan to hide "trap" rules in unconnected threads than I shall make sure to scour thoroughly to ensure the boot isn't on my neck.
I repost it here as a PSA to those who might have somehow missed this new rule.
Yes we have, and people should hopefully be engaged enough to know that. On the other hand, that information wasn't included in a site banner, there is no thread created in politics to talk about or explain that ruling, it's not mentioned in the rules thread or even been added to the thread talking about the closure of the politics section. Rather, as best as I can tell this new "rule" is only mentioned briefly in passing in a separate thread in an entirely unrelated forum of the site.We have been asked not to make new threads about the election while the current election topics remain closed
