@Aldarion You forget that there are many types of equality, and that there are those types you'd agree with. Proportionate/Geometric equality for one.

True. Unless someone said that 2 + 2 = 5, or that 2 = 4. And that is the type of equality which Left promotes: humans are different yet Left wants to make them all equal. That is not something that can work well, or at all.

EDIT:
Long gone though, all I can find now is a short review
Looking in on Loyalty & Liberty

I found this as well:

See, I am more of having an Emperor over a King.
It sounds better. I mean Empire sounds amazing! Look at French Empire, Roman Empire!
I oppose empires because I value the nation - which is a distinct people with a shared sense of identity and history who have political autonomy. While an empire is a collection of nations ruled by one authority, which undermines the ability of a people to have political representation and autonomy.
Technically could America be considered an Empire?
I don't know about technically, but I think that a good argument could be made that the USA is effectively an empire, especially post Civil War.

Technically Yes

Yes and no. If we take what the Romans did when they had a good Emperor and have a senate they may listen too

There can certainly be benefits to being ruled by an empire, but many people within it are still subject to an alien power and so I fundamentally object.

That depends on how you define 'Empire.' The most accurate term for the USA is 'World Hegemon.' We aren't structured as an empire, and our culture doesn't fit one.

If America had been a classical Empire, Iraq and Afghanistan would have both been forced to institute laws guarding religious freedom, and Islamists who tried to use force or intimidation to dissuade conversions or the like would have been harshly punished. We also would have been extracting taxes/tribute from provinces under our authority, and using that to our own benefit.

That said, it wouldn't be that hard logistically or militarily for America to transition into being an Empire. Just culturally.
