The French were conducting and are conducting operations in Africa to this day. You didn't hear about that time they intervened in Mali did you?
"conducting operations" what the fuck does that have to do with anything?

Source, or are you just making shit up? There is a lot of scholarly work on the subject, more than I can summarize here. I'm guessing your engaging in nationalist chest thumping, which is all fine and good but should not be confused with serious historical understanding.
Learn to multi quote, learn to post in general really. What the fuck are you trying to ask? Did you forget that Iraq once had the world's fourth biggest military and we rolled straight over it?

Tell that to the veterans who fought from 1965 to 1975. Or did you sleep through that part of history class? South Vietnam didn't win, and who backed the South?
The US army clobbered the shit out of the NVA rather contemptuously, check our KD on that one fernando.

And guess who still lost

And guess who still lost
-Evaporate the enemy army on contact
-15:1 KD ratio
-political pressure at home demands an end to the war
-offer enemy a ceasefire
-enemy accepts
-leave the enemy nation in complete shambles

Vietnam has a proud tradition of having it's armies annihilated, it's people subjugated, then claiming victory once the enemy moves on to somewhere else.

We still lost the war.
You can say anything you want, but even the US military, I may even ask my CG what he thinks, says we lost Vietnam

I dont give a shit how wrong you choose to be, chief. the NVA was absolutely crushed by the US army, and political pressure at home forced the US to end the conflict. If this argument was that the united states military was immune to political pressure from it's own government, what you're mumbling on about might be relevant, however, as it's about the US military's ability to defeat other militaries, it could not be less coherent.

Looking at the casualty list, the NVA and Viet-Cong had about 100 thousand more then the Americans and South Vietnamese

Theres your problem right there. The americans were doing most of the killing. We lost 50k, they lost upwards of a million.
It turns out General Westmoreland's body count metric of winning war isn't actually applicable to reality. I thought we had learned this in 1969.

How on earth is this relevant to the confluence of factors that led to the events in May 1940? Actually engage with the subject and stop making these inane digressions.

The North won the war. Politics or no.

I'm more in favor of decapitation body counts of targets who can lead.

It does work enough for propoganda purposes until the enemy still continues fighting.

an order of magnitude's attrition rate is literally a perfect indicator of the dominance of one military over another. The kinds of losses experienced by forces such as the Russians, Chinese, Koreans, and Vietnamese in their various disastrous campaigns have had a terrible effect on their demographics, and proved convincingly that their militaries blow ass.

If only we knew what cost the Cubans for a military commie adventure to Africa besides their war hero getting officially executed for smuggling drugs supposedly.

Dude, this is tiresome. Stop with the digressions. And actually engage in the debate.

The US had failed to win, despite invading Cambodia and saturation bombing. By 1973, it was recognized that the war was futile. We could play Whac-A-Mole indefinitely but never actually ensure the South won.

Sure we could've invade the north and kill everyone. Then when the ChiComs interfere kill them to would've been ww3 most likley. We certainly could've done so though hell we could've just nucked them. The "loss" in Vietnam being near purely political isn't controversial.

China got invovled in Korea, but unlike Vietnam we did not have guerilla warfare against us.

It's always the political will that hamstrung you.

Plus poor choice of allies.

@Shipmaster Sane which disastrous campaign are you talking about besides the Soviets in Afghanistan?
