  • July 20th, 1963: Ieda Maria Vargas of Brazil was crowned as the 12th Miss Universe at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, FL.

    Vargas would be the first of 2 Brazilians to win the Miss Universe Crown; she would be followed by Martha Vasconellos in 1968.
     
    13th Miss Universe Pageant (1964)
  • August 1st, 1964: Corrina Tsopei of Greece is crowned the 13th Miss Universe at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, FL.
    As of 2023, Tsopei is the only Greek to win the Miss Universe Crown.

     
    16th Miss Universe (1967)
  • July 15th, 1967: The late Sylvia Hitchcock of the United States is crowned as the 16th Miss Universe at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, FL. This would be Bob Barker's first Miss Universe pageant as the host.
     
    18th Miss Universe (1969)
  • July 19th, 1969: Gloria Diaz of the Philippines was crowned as the 18th Miss Universe at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, FL. Diaz made history becoming the first Filipino & second Southeast Asian to win the Miss Universe Crown beating 60 other contestants from around the world.

    She would be followed by Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015) & Catriona Gray (2018).
