It was on that "Amazing Stories" series. There was a beauty contest called "Miss Galaxy;" the problem was the only contestants were Earth ("Eeth") women, so they had to include a few alien females.

It went downhill for everyone from there.

Vargas would be the first of 2 Brazilians to win the Miss Universe Crown; she would be followed by Martha Vasconellos in 1968.

August 1st, 1964: Corrina Tsopei of Greece is crowned the 13th Miss Universe at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, FL.
As of 2023, Tsopei is the only Greek to win the Miss Universe Crown.
