This in and of itself doesn't mean much to me if it was done in retaliation for the rocket attacks that resulted in American casualties prior. Trump retaliated when an American was killed after all a year ago and there hasn't been another lethal attack on US forces by the Iranian backed forces since then until recently AFAIK.

The fact more US troops are being deployed to Syria prior to this would be far more concerning of course.
