Media/Journalism Cringe Megathread - Hot off the Presses

And now for someone with a rather overinflated sense of importance and a equally underinflated grasp of reality we have David Cay Johnston former New York Times and Pulitzer prize winner saying that if Trump wins reelection there will be firing squads and he'll be among the first sent to them.

Article discussing it:

Relevent part of transcript:
We’ve got to get this man out of office or it’s the end of our democracy, and down that road, Joe, lie firing squads.

MADISON: Firing squads?

JOHNSTON: Well, that’s what dictators do. I mean, I have no, you know, I said after Donald Trump won the electoral college, that if he could find a way to have me arrested, cause he said he hates me more than any other journalist in the world, that he would do so. And that Trump, who has no empathy for anyone else, all of us are just objects, Joe, we’re not people. Every case that I’ve ever studied that a country has been taken over by a dictator, of course there are firing squads. And I would expect to get shot in the first round.

According to NBC, heterosexuality just isn't working. Don't you know that men loving women is a form of patriarchal oppression?

Just take a look at this. I mean, I know that opinion sections tend to be dumpster fires. But why? Why is this a thing?
Destruction of male pride and dignity. So we'll accept thier dictates quietly. Women don't fight revolutions men do. Immasculation is a necessity for thier victory. See also the pushing of Cuckholding and demonization of weight training.

Both they and the Health Center wanted to make it look like there were more people being tested so they had Hospital Employees make up the line so it'd look like they were busier and in need of more work. Literal fake patients.
We don't know yet that CBS knew. But it looks pretty bad.

At the start the guy who's the supervisor for the cleaning site says "Apparently the news crew wanted more people in line because they knew it was scheduled". I'm inclined to believe them since they likely weren't aware they were being filmed when that was said so had no real reason to throw the blame on the news crew.

Sure, I'd give it greater than 50/50 odds on the news being guilty, but the evidence (that CBS was involved) is mostly hearsay. I'll hold out until I know for sure.

Listen to this dolt carrying water for the media party line, whinging about "conspiracy theories" and "high capacity magazines", and doing it all on for a news site that once tried to explains the deeply ingrained sexism of "hey guys".
And hey buddy, you want to talk about the President practicing what he preaches and letting armed protesters march on the White house? Yeah, where were you when Adam Kokesh said he was going to do that very thing with 2000 men in 2012 and got arrested by the FBI for his promise?

It's not racist so it will be fine!

Wtf CBS news:

Bit of an update on this story. CBS admits there may have been hospital staff in the line and removes the segment, meanwhile Cherry health can't agree on a statement and contradicts itself in the three it made:

Why real talk bro the "MSM" doesn't deserve the benefit ofthe doubt. They should be assumed to ne lying at basically all times. The burden of proof is on them bro.

I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. In this case, I still haven't seen evidence of CNN lying, just the hospital lying. Due process and having reasonable doubt about accusations is important. It keeps one from becoming a partisan hack, and it means I don't condemn people for things they didn't do.

See I go the other way around folks need to prove thier right in everything at all times. If they can't or won't they should be assumed liars and mocked relentlessly. I'd imagine most of that is worldview though so I don't necessarily expect folks to be like me. I still can't help but be disappointed when they are that make sense?

Link in spoiler not working, but the title is:
"Patriots owner donates ring from infamous Super Bowl win", by CNN

The title should say it all. The smears against the patriots never end. Apparantly, Super Bowl 51, the greatest comeback in NFL history, potentially the greatest in sports history, is now infamous. Other infamous things: The fall of the Berlin wall, the miracle on ice, the invention of penicillin.

So, imagine you get William Barr over for an interview and you ask him "When history looks back on this decision to drop the Flynn case, how do you think it will be written?" and he replies "Well, history is written by the winners. So largely it depends on who is writing the history, But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.” would you a) show the full quote and discuss that or b) show only "Well, history is written by the winners. So largely it depends on who is writing the history," and try and stir up shit over it. Well, if you're CBS news you obviously pick option B because you're really bad at this whole news thing and just want to stir up trouble with fake news.

What's most surprising to me is that they did this knowing full well that there was zero chance the truth wouldn't eventually come out that they'd been hiding the full quote because this is the US attorney general not some random schmuck who doesn't matter and has no ability to call you out on it.

I think you underestimate the level of delusion the MSM operates on.

Remember, during the Bush presidency, they would have gotten away with this crap.

The MSN would have gotten away with it year 1 of the Trump presidency the problem for them is that they have been repeatively caught in lie after lie many of them high profile and have burned through a whole lot of their legitimacy.

First off... nice "accident" by the FBI. Who knows anymore.

Secondly...

Yahoo News said:
"It also shines a light on the extraordinary efforts by top Trump administration officials in recent months to prevent internal documents about the issue from ever becoming public.
“This shows there is a complete government cover-up of the Saudi involvement,” said Brett Eagleson, a spokesman for the 9/11 families whose father was killed in the attacks. “It demonstrates there was a hierarchy of command that’s coming from the Saudi Embassy to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs [in Los Angeles] to the hijackers.”

That dastardly Trump Administration... covering up this link for nineteen years... in "recent months."
