Regardless of the veracity of the allegations I do genuinely feel bad for Biden at this point. It's obvious to even the most casual observer that this man is in mental decline, and it's utterly irresponsible towards the country AND towards Joe Biden's health to have nominated him, let alone have him continue to run for office. The guy belongs in a nursery home, not on the campaign trail.

He won't destroy it. Its a playbook older than Bork, they just made a mistake and let the Democrat village idiots actually name it.
Honestly, my grandfather suffered from dementia, though gladly it never fully got him. As such I can barely contain my anger at a political culture that wouldn't conclude after one good look at Biden that the only sane approach in this case would be to write him off the party ballot and tell his family: get him good care, and let him enjoy his remaining years on some nice lake side property under mild supervision. Hell, he might even stay largely functional for the whole time. But having the guy run for president is actually a slap in his face, and in the face of the office itself.

The idea of why the Democrats want Biden is that he is meant to be a figurehead. He will have a female VP and she will be doing the actual ruling.

She's spent a lot of her political capital within the Democratic Party, and she's not getting any younger. I'm sure she'd like to try to keep running until she can pull it off, but it's telling that she didn't even put her name forward for the primaries. Indirect shit like being Biden's VP before he gets removed because he's clearly not competent is about the only remaining chance she's got.
