Media/Journalism Cringe Megathread - Hot off the Presses

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough Reveals that the civilian owned AR-15 is actually deadlier then the M16A1 used in the Vietnam War.

The M1 has a engine that is pretty much a jet turbine. It was designed to run on gas, but in theory it could run on any liquid that burn as long as it isn't too viscous. IIRC you could theoretically run it with cooking oil if you didn't mind having to clean it often.

Which makes it kind of like a Leman Russ tank when you think about it. Much like the Leman though, just because you can doesn't mean you should. The Commissars and Tech Priests WILL get your ass if the find you outting anything other than Government Approved Gas on it.

Could you afford the gas bill to run a M1?
Fuck no.
I would totally become someone who siphons gas though

I mean that is very true.
And we actually give it diesel.
The jet turbine runs on anything you put in it.
It also runs quieter then most diesel engines.

JP8 is some good shit.

Also...engine repairs are expensive! Maint. dropped one of the turbines from the hoist while doing an overhaul...I got to hear the bitching about the cost!

Hell buy a working tank from overseas. Sure the weapons won't work but .....hard to stop 60 tons of Fuck You. I mean there are people in the US that own tanks.
