Opinion | Tom Cotton: Send In the Troops (behind a paywall)
This Tom Cotton New York Times drama is pretty hilarious as well. Apparently yesterday NYT staffers revolted against the publishing of an op-ed Wednesday where Republican Senator (and military veteran) Tom Cotton argued for the use of Federal troops to quell the violent rioting taking place in cities.
NYT Columnist Bari Weiss stated that there is a "Civil War" going on in the New York Times over the op-ed (for which she's already being lambasted by her colleagues for live tweeting about)and the NYT already apologized for publishing and saying it didn't meet their rigorous standards of journalistic bullshit or whatever though it couldn't cite anything specifically... like factual errors or anything. But NYT staffers are worried that the op-ed and its violent rhetoric will inspire violence which will endanger and threaten the NYT's many Blackvictims employees.
Hilarious.
According to Tom Cotton's office of course, it was rigorously reviewed over the period of several days by the New York Times before publication...
So op-eds by the Taliban, Putin, Erdogan, Sarah Jeong and Asgar Qadri are fine... but Senator Tom Cotton... tooo controversial!
