As others have pointed out, this already is the standard Democrat tactic, and yes, having a -D next to your name does give you a large degree of immunity. How strong that immunity is depends on how useful you are.
It's not a happy wake-up call to realize this, but this is what it is.

It was a parody site that mocked feminist. They shut down after releasing an article about forgiving rapists as long as they are democrats/lefties, and then the actual media did the exact same thing. The owner just gave up at that point, because there was nothing left outragious enough that it would be indistinguishable form reality.

Apparently trump played like a 5 minute clip at his last daily briefing of the various news stations downplaying Coronavirus and attacking trump for closing travel to China and such.
The msm stations didn't appreciate it.
