Firstly, "hate speech" was not a thing until the 1970s, the first Hate Speech laws were passed then AFAIK, and most of what we consider falling under "Hate Speech" is easily shown to have been part of basic political speech going back to the 18th century, especially Racially based hate speech, and was thus considered protected.

Further, Hate Speech was not categorically destroyed as unconstitutional until the 1990s and was not done via the precedents that loosened Obscenity laws, but rather was part of the broader rolling back of restrictions on inflammatory political speech that had been underway once Originalists and Textualists began gaining traction on the court. Most obscenity laws were overturned not by them, but by the earlier progressive court.

No. The reverse is actually true. KKK members were arrested for speech that was seen as increasing racial animus in Brandenburg v Ohio, which was finally ruled on in 1969. We also have the Skokie decision in 1977 about the right to march through streets with nazi paraphenilia because it had hate content.

Laws stopping people from speaking were in fact fairly common prior to the 1970s, with Wilson being the most notorious expander of them. The classic "can't shout fire in a movie theater" was about "you can't protest the draft while a war is happening", specifically WW1.

No, hate speech bans were said to be unconstitional in 1977 with National Socialist Party of America v Village of Skokie (as I alluded to above, one of the city ordinances violated was a hate speech distribution ban), which found that a swastika was valid 1st amendment expression. Well, from what I see, one of two things will happen.

1) Everything is going to burn down of its own accord because Western civilization as it currently exists can't sustain itself. It's too diseased and has too many structural problems.

Something is going to give and seeing the how stubbornly our various political systems are resisting any sort of reform - because this diseased state of affairs is what most of them want- that means the chance of reform is pretty damn slim. And given the global nature of our economics and other stuff, once the dominos start falling, it's going to spread.

None of this is good, but it's much, much better than what I see is the likely alternative.

2) The bad guys win. People never wake up. And a nightmare neo-feudalist cyberpunk dystopia ensues. Nations, people and their cultures are reduced to mere economic zones that exist just to make the GDP line go up. And that's not getting into the worse of it.

Here's the WEF/Globalist/Communitarian/Neo-Malthusian plan, summed up:

• Passive solar, heat pumps, and LED lighting on all new residential construction.
• XR telecommuting in the Metaverse in Zuckerberg's digital Second Life shopping malls to replace real commutes and office buildings (all office work will be digitized, paperless, and cloud-based to facilitate this).
  • Eventually, with implanted brain-computer interfaces, heavy goggles will be replaced with "seamless XR" where you can just close your eyes and step into the metaverse without using any energy to get there, or walk around your drab and boring micro-apartment and have other, illusory locales filled with imaginary wealth and substance layered on top.
• No more private ownership of computer hardware that uses more wattage than a tablet or subnotebook. All AI gains will be centralized in data centers owned by a few monopolistic giants to make sure that those AIs aren't used to replicate populist pleb values and ideas. Only approved government-corpo-academia communitarian ideas are allowed to be promoted by AI.
  • Nothing scares these people shitless like the idea of based AI proliferating and spreading populist ideas.
• AI teachers, AI babysitters, AI propaganda brainwashing, everywhere.
  • Destruction of the nuclear family and traditionalism. Children treated as "small adults" and wards of the state, subject to entirely centralized and digitized education. Homeschooling outlawed as dangerous and radical.
• Implanted digital ID linked to a CBDC. All bank cards, driver's licenses, and other forms of ID are no longer physical, but linked to a cryptographic hash stored in the nanotech in your body.
• Everything that is currently private property is subject to servitization. You don't buy a refrigerator or a washing machine. You subscribe to them. Everything is on a lease model. If you are cut off from banking for expressing radical no-no wrongthink badthoughts, you can no longer make payments on the things scattered around your bugman dormitory. This is what Ida Auken means by owning nothing and being happy. What it means is that the rich and their holding companies will own things and collect rents on them.
• No class mobility, ever. Born a pleb, die a pleb. You don't earn money. You are given monthly rations of UBI good-boy tokens for obedience to the state.
• What a green, restorative, circular/steady-state economy actually means in practice is that all the companies currently producing literal plastic garbage mountains of consoomer bullshit will make the same revenues as before while producing far fewer actual goods, because they'll make different people pay subscription fees to rent the same lump of matter.
  • In other words, it means deliberately arresting GDP growth and stretching the wealth we already have. Wealth creation is replaced with wealth management, i.e. rentierism.
• Since there won't be enough wealth to satisfy the plebs in this arrangement, there need to be far fewer plebs to distribute the wealth to (i.e. depopulation).
• Robots will create a larger and larger share of all new wealth, eventually making human wage labor irrelevant. As the population contracts due to depopulation, so too do the various services that robots would otherwise need to provide, like maintaining container ships and other transport infrastructure.
  • Automated infrastructure will become increasingly inhuman, autarkic, and self-maintaining. Tasks that robots are poor at will be minimized, and the entire economy will be restructured around things robots are competent at doing.
• Once human labor is fully irrelevant, the 1% will massacre the helpless and disarmed remainder of humanity and leave behind maybe ten million very wealthy psychopaths enjoying a post-scarcity free wealth cornucopia with their robots, frolicking on empty beaches, tearing down the hollow husks of our cities and replacing them with mansions, and so on.

Can't speak for him but I'll give my own 2 cents. The left is composed of a group of out of touch academics who push forth theories that will absolutely burn down society. some push it because they believe this time will be different some because they believe they will be on top. below them we got a bunch of people who have checked out and vote blue no matter who and wonder why things get worse and we also got a loosely controlled mob of attack dogs in antifa types who can mostly be directed at the opposition with some collateral damage. their win condition is burning down our society.

on the right we got a wide variety of people who don't really agree on much other than they want the left to stop beating them over the head. ideally they would like a working country at the end of it too. so we bicker and disagree on how and what we can do to stop the beatings. some are getting fed up and say hit them back. others say no the system still works and if we take the reigns of power we can get them to stop. as time goes on and the beatings continue and the republicucks keep on cucking and self sabotaging people lose patience with the better solution simply wanting the beatings to stop.

ideally Trump wins everyone has a kumbaya moment and says man things got crazy there but we can compromise and fix shit. I doubt that will happen but it is a nice dream no?

I expect if Trump wins the dems will double and triple down on him being literally Hitler. him deporting migrants will be loading the POCs on trains. the dems already in the last election wargamed how they would conduct lawfare to tie him up. they also thought they would get the west coast to secede so there is that to consider as well. even if it is just a bunch of CHAZ/CHOP insurrections if the governors refuse help from the military and Trump goes in anyway that will be even more fuel to the fire. and we haven't even touched on the establishment wing of the Republican party doing everything they can to frustrate the agenda and how the military literally lied to Trump on official reports to keep troops in active combat zones of countries we aren't at war with.

If Biden wins it will be through very obvious fortification or lawfare. in which case there will be a massive loss of faith in the system as it stands. with all that entails. expect the dems to double down on all the biden policies that have been going swimmingly.
