Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum

My influence grows!
Assuming otherwise seems to be a frequent fallacy on the part of the internet right, possibly because of anthropomorphizing the likes of Tay, one which could very easily be exploited by an AI for breaching its box.

The first 5 seconds of this shows how to stop an AI.

Why? The arms race premise breaks down insofar as there's no obvious way in which would Chinese billionaires getting AGI would be functionally any different from American ones from the perspectives of non-billionaires regardless of their country. Authoritarian assholes who want you dead no longer needing your labor and having a sudden monopoly of force happens in both cases.
1. you are assuming god minds instead of artificial humans. You are gonna be building 80 IQ robots for a long time before reaching those over 9000 IQ robots.

2. You are mistaking the word "difference" to mean "these oligarchs are Good and these oligarchs are Evil".
Evil is not a team, there are a wide variety of evil things oligarchs can do.

The main difference is that the western oligarchs are united behind the woke cult which is inimical to humanity. Western oligarchs will genocide humanity down to 1000 humans, 0.5 million cyborg slaves, and a bunch of AI slaves. Then the 1000 humans will start game of thrones with each other. Because their religion of woke calls for it on account of weather. Oh, and have the cyborgs produce a steady stream of unchipped child sex slaves for them to violate and sacrifice.

Chinese oligarchs will give us worldwide CCP. Pollution, sweatshops, no human rights, divine mandate. Big brother always watching... but they also like tech and will probably instate a state mandated eugenics program.

Iranian oligarchs will build jihadi bots and fake angels for worldwide sharia.
etc.

Different oligarchs are evil in different ways and have different goals.

Then you lack imagination. Paraphrasing a classic, our bastards may be bastards, but if you think their bastards can't be worse for us, you have some serious thinking to do.

to be fair we live in a very stupid and cultist era.....

Hopefully future generations when this is all over will have a good laugh about it all.
Indeed.Evil of the past was at least partially competent.
Our leftist friends are not.Robespierre,Lenin,Hitler,Mao - all would eat them for breakfast.

But,thanks to our lack of action, they could still win,and send us to green gulags/massgraves.

I read some old story about shitty hangman in England, who was inexperienced with his sword, and need more then 5 cuts to behead some poor dude.
We could die like him,if they win.

Dutch Leader, Who Vowed To Destroy WEF, Hospitalized After Assassination Attempt

A Dutch politician who vowed to destroy the World Economic Forum (WEF) has been left hospitalized following a failed assassination attempt.

Thierry Baudet was rushed to hospital after he was attacked at a campaign event by a man wielding a beer bottle. The incident was the second attack on Baudet in recent weeks, and took place just two days before a general election.

Infowars.com reports: Baudet was greeting supporters at a bar in the northern city of Groningen on Monday when the assailant struck him repeatedly on the head and neck with the bottle. Video footage showed Baudet's security team rushing the injured political leader away as bystanders wrestled the attacker to the ground.

The attacker was arrested shortly afterwards, while Baudet was taken to a nearby hospital. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), his Forum for Democracy (FvD) party said that Baudet was treated by a trauma surgeon and that the bottle narrowly missed his eye.

The party then announced that an event scheduled for later in the evening in the city of Zwolle had been canceled "for the health and safety" of Baudet.

Monday's attack came less than a month after Baudet was struck with an umbrella by a masked assailant at Ghent University in Belgium. Baudet suffered a minor concussion as a result of the strike, and the perpetrator – who shouted anti-Russian slogans during the incident – was arrested on the spot.

Baudet describes his party as "the most energetic anti-globalist movement of our time," and is a vocal critic of immigration, "woke and LGBT propaganda," and Dutch membership of the EU and NATO. He has described the conflict in Ukraine as "a stupid NATO war against Russia," and praised Russian President Vladimir Putin as "a huge hero" in the fight against American-led "globalism."

Formed in 2016, his party won 1.8% of the vote in the following year's general election, which rose to 5% in 2021. Ahead of another general election this Wednesday, the FvD is currently polling at 3%, according to an aggregate of multiple opinion polls compiled by Politico.

Several right-wing populist politicians have been attacked across Europe in the last six weeks. Alternative for Germany (AfD) co-leader Tino Chrupalla was hospitalized after he was stabbed with a syringe at a rally in early October, while Alejo Vidal-Quadras, the founder of Spain's Vox party, was left seriously injured after he was shot in the face in Madrid earlier this month.
