You are of course right,but If somebody belive that your group is superior to other humans,then genocide is good thing for him,and he try to made it real.
And,since those others are only subhumans or even animals for him,he do not even consider that as genocide.
According to my grandmother who survivied german camp ,part of germans really considered us poles as animals - so,for them,killing us was not even genocide.

There is also a religious motive at play. Or more accurately, they have a spiritual but not religious motive. New Agers do not have a traditional belief in reincarnation. In real Eastern religions, You die, You go to Heaven or Hell for a trillion years, then live a trillion lives as various non-sapients until there is finally an opening in one of the uncountable Human worlds. The deep end of the New Age unambiguously disagrees with all of this; they believe that there is a finite amount of Human souls that can be reincarnate on this physical planet (the exceptions to the last rule are known as Starseeds, if You have to ask, You're one, and expected to lord it over the heathens). It is necessary to them that no one runs around without a soul to appreciate the fruits of our Great Awakening into a global eusocial order. While not as immediately horrific of an infringement on Our future, it also explains the United States' sudden disinterest in space travel, a Humanity spread too far from Our pool of souls is just as much of a thorny theological issue for them as a Humanity that draws too much from it.

Zelensky was at Davos if memory serves me right. They had to promise him and his clique something, which every time they say it likely becomes less probable they actually join. They made only one notable exception to a divided country but with the promise of reunification : Cyprus.
