It's the IRL variation on Demolition Man style law enforcement, so far for foreigners only, but just wait, BLM is at work. A system that worries more about future security and well being of a foreign criminal in his homeland more than about security and well being of own citizens.

The Texas Department of Public Safety dispatched Texas Rangers and State Police to occupy Fronton Island, a 170 acre, mile long island that was a Cartel sanctuary because neither Mexico nor the United States was sure of who owned the Island. The island has high elevation, lots of foliage and vegetation and on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande, warehouses and other facilities are tagged as owned by various Mexican cartels. Several times over the previous years Mexican Cartel members have even fired upon US Law Enforcement personnel, occasionally resulting in injuries for US personnel at least in the ensuing gun battles.
After the State of Texas recently conducted a survey, determining Fronton Island to be within the State of Texas, State Law Enforcement was dispatched to the Cartel owned island to seize it from the Cartels and hold it so it can be used to secure that stretch of the Texas border.

In light of this, breaking down of bleeding heart's legalistic sacred cows is, if anything, a step towards dealing with the real problem here - that European countries feel it necessary to outsource their immigration enforcement to third party countries that sit on the routes before EU, because EU countries themselves can be shamed and sued into not doing the "dirty work" involved, and so the only taste of effective enforcement can be had by having third parties provide it and hoping the additional degree of separation keeps the activist judges and politicians from doing too much damage to careers of the people involved.
