@Skallagrim big fan of the YouTube channel I take it? Or does the name mean something?
I've used this name for as long as I've been on the internet. It's a reference to this guy. I'm not a fan of any youtube channel so much as I'm a fan of mediaeval icelandic proto-anarchism and the noble tradition of brutally murdering anyone who tries to tax you or tell you what to do. ;)

It's becoming hard for me to care about what happens to these people. I used to like the king, but then he had a guy executed for speaking the truth. At this point, Alicent's daughter and the bald bodyguard are the only characters in the show who aren't dicks. As much as I disliked Game of Thrones, at least there were 2 or 3 main or major good guy characters to root for (Jon, Tyrion, and Davos).

Couldn't she have just hidden down there behind her dragon until nightfall before emerging, when no one would have been around? Seems like she decided to pop up through the floor and kill hundreds of people just so she could fake-out Alicent.

I'm pretty sure she has gone as insane and illogical as most of her family have become.

I assumed she was threatening Alicent menacing her with a "you see this power? You'll never have it but if you were ambitious enough you could have commanded those who do"

It was a really poorly executed scene because she does command those who do.

She wanted to remind everyone what real power was for some dumbass reason.

All sympathy I had for her disappeared when she started her killing spree. A lot of innocent peasants got slaughtered by her stunt. I just wanted the entire cast of main characters dead by that point.

I didn't need closeups of a dead baby. I didn't need minute long closeup shots of Rhaenerya's resting bitch face either. More obnoxious whisper talking.

The CGI during the flying scenes was particularly bad. Felt like I was watching a 90s greenscreen.

How on earth is Aemond's humongous dragon fed? Does it gorge on 100 cows every day? How does the empire not run out of cows? Does it eat orcas or whales?

I didn't get why Aemond got upset over the demise of his enemy. Aemond clearly wanted to kill him so now he feels sorry when he succeeds?

Wait, so that's the end of the show? So that was 12 hours of terrible soap opera and you don't even get a spectacular battle?

3/10 awful show. It's a 12 hour long soap opera about evil people. A show about gratuitous murder, rape, adultery, infidelity, and onanism. I do not care about what happens to these people. Awful dialogue. Acting is wooden as a door. Forgettable music. The only thing that makes HotD marginally better than Rings of Power are the costumes and some of the set design, but too bad you can't see them clearly because of the horrendous color grading and it being literally impossible to see in certain scenes.

This show was always ever going to be aggressively okay and saved by the quality of the actors and then only two of said actors and there's kinda only one left.

They kept throwing childbirth into the picture to highlight a point no one needed highlighted.

The season finale as as aggressively okay as the rest of it.

Gratuitous graphic scenes because HBO and because "it's for adults" and that's determined by teenagers apparently. Brings down the caliber of the show IMO but what do I know?

The only character I really like is Vhagar. And thats because she reminds me of this beat up old mastiff one of my uncles owned who used to always sleep on his grand staircase and then every morning she'd wake up to look around and her ginormous head would drag her torso down into the other stairs and then her ass would swing around and hit a lower stair and she would descend like a special needs slinky.

But yeah, I only find that dragon amusing because she reminds me of a big fat semi retarded old dog.

Well her and Aemond.

Sonoya Mizuno is criminally under used as Myseria and why they made Myseria echo the fucking sparrows when canonically she was a vicious and ambitious bitch is beyond me. But yeah.

One major issue with this series is that almost every single change to (as opposed to: expansion of) the source material makes the character(s) involved more stupid.

And to be quite honest, most of them weren't that well-endowed in the brains department to begin with.

Another issue is that they crammed 25 years of (what's basically) set-up into ten episodes. Some people feel that "not enough happened", but the truth is: a lot happened, and it was skimmed over.

This should have been two seasons with the big time jump / cast change between those two seasons... or (if they wanted to bbe a bit more daring) it could have been one twenty-episode season with a non-linear narrative. That is: they show the characters as "now" and "then" and they compare and contrast the relations between them in the different time periods to accentuate character growth, narrative progression and thematic relevance.

Either way, they'd have had ten more episodes to show a lot of stuff they skimmed over, like the War for the Stepstones. That could have been several action-packed episodes building towards a major climax. Instead, we literally skipped the whole war except the last day of it. (And of that, we still saw precious little.)
