I will continue to call a spade a spade.
Hey, I'm not the one who brought it up. You, on the other hand, are nosing into someone else's conversation, apparently completely unaware of the context.
And now this is just you whining because I pointed this out to you. Someone asked about the topic, I answered, and now y'all are whining because you don't like the answer.
Probably also romans, carthaginians and other ancient sailors. But,since they never made colonies,it do not matter.
Olmecs leaved heads of black people and sculptures of white people,so they must be ancient sailors. But - again, nothing come from that in the end,so it do not matter.
But ,like @Husky_Khan said,Columbus started big changes, and that why we remember him.
Unlikely. None of those peoples had the ships or navigation expertise for a blue water voyage across the Atlantic.
With that said the exploits of Hanno and other Carthaginians and those of that era was impressive and worth reading up on. Seems likely that they reached around West Africa and even found exotic native females to bring back to their colonies.
Granted they were literal apes but still...
Don't be so quick to believe any writings pro anybody. If you remember not to long ago When Black People said Thomas Jefferson had sexual relations with one of his Slaves Sally Hemmings. Damn near every Historian and Conservative media type called it a lie. Only for them to be proven wrong by DNA. So yeah don't be so quick to discount what other people are telling you about someone you admire.@Captain X
You should really go back and look into Columbus yourself instead of taking other people's interpretations. I'm looking for a suitable link for you with a translation of his actual journal writings. I'll put it up if/when I find a good source.
Actually it was wrong. It was NOT Jefferson's kid, but a sibling of his.Don't be so quick to believe any writings pro anybody. Actually sport you are wrong. DNA tests proved he fathered one of her children. They did more than one sets of tests.Actually it was wrong. It was NOT Jefferson's kid, but a sibling of his.
No, it is false based on the actual historical evidence. You are repeating historical slander by Spain's rivals as fact, and of course modern day slander too.
What this really is, is you and other people trying to rain on everyone's parade, probably because you want to feel morally superior.
