Yeah, no, I'm not feeling all that sympathetic. What she said was pretty dumb. Comparing herself to Jews during the Nazi German regime?

Honestly, though, I think they probably were already planning to fire her. That's what it sounds like. They probably had the order already in place and were just waiting for the next time she said something dumb on Twitter.

They were planning to fire her anyway. Kathleen Kennedy has already admitted it. They were just looking for an excuse. As for the comment itself, I don't mind it. Her post was that it was literally a warning we were going down the path that Germany did nearly a hundred years ago. That is very relevant and on point. Hell, Ben Shapiro who is Jewish didn't have a problem with the post and then hired Gina Corano to star and produce a film. We shall see where this goes in the future. But all it takes is Hollywood being unable to cancel one for others to be inspired and begin fighting back. And best of all, winning.

Not going to happen. Cancel culture is inherent to social media. You might as well be a knight wishing for handguns to go away. Instead of plugging our ears and closing our eyes and wishing for it to go away, we need to accept the new reality create our own cancel culture.

Not really, cancel culture is old shit. It is how ancient feudal societies got so bent up about honor and face.

Or we could push for criminalization of uneven treatment and service by social media companies. No more "judging an action by its own merit", we know where that leads. Actions will be judged only relative to other actions, as part of a matrix of a singular social norm rather than in an isolated vacuum that creates opportunities for discrimination. No more "but that's wHaTaBoUtIsM". What the progressives call "whataboutism" is an essential tenet of fundamental ethics, and the sooner that is codified by law, the better.

In the context of our conversation: if one guy is banned for a particular offense, EVERYONE are banned for a similar offense, and if not then Twitter gets sued.

Never accused you of being a Nazi, I don't believe that for a second. But I think you're being a bit paranoid with the whole RINO thing. Mean, there are definitely some Republicans like that, for example at this point I have absolutely no idea what makes Romney a Republican other than a paper saying he's registered with the party.... But not everything and everyone is "controlled opposition".

Perhaps not everyone, but enough to almost completely castrate the Republican party's ability to oppose the Democrats in any meaningful way. I mean, just look at the dearth of progress they made against them over the past four years; it's pathetic.

Seeing this whole mess laid out so clearly, if I hadn't already committed myself to boycotting mainstream western entertainment media in general, due to their insistence in catering to the regressive left, this would inspire me to avoid anything Disney was involved with like the plague for the foreseeable future. The only solace I can take from this is the fact that miss Carano is on track to be successful in spite of the conspiracy against her, as well as the inevitable failure that will result from Darth Kennedy's High Republic initiative.
