I certainly didn't help their case that they've spent the past three years by tearing themselves apart in internal power struggles, didn't have any dedicated media strategy, did do jack shit to set up a professional and coordinated own (social) media presence to counter and preempt official narratives, then danced to the tunes of the overwhelmingly leftwing media establishment if it suited one side or the other of the internal power struggle. That they linked themselves to a deeply unpopular hodge-podge of groups critical of anti-CoViD measures represented by conspiracy nuts and extreme rightwing figures more or less kicked them in the balls. As icing to the cake their campaigning has been utterly lacklustre and barely present in to public perception. Honestly, I'm surprised they managed to stay above 10% of the vote. I'm deeply dissatisfied with them and their conduct.
As for the rest of the election: I'm pretty certain that four years of a majority leftwing coalition government will cripple the middle class and the economy beyond repair. The whole leftwing's focus on "climate" and immigration will see to it that this country steps over the edge and into abyss. Even the FDP is asking for up to half a million new immigrants per year (for the economy, yeah, right, because that's realistic), and they are the least left wing of the lot.
