And yet the protests are so much more subdued when outside of Democratic strongholds. Phonix put up with none of the crap and shut it down early. Austin tolerates it, but Dems in Texas are self-aware enough to keep the brake on. Tennesse has had none of it from day one.
Antifa can have fun when the law enforcement apparatus runs air cover for them. The moment they leave that protective embrace they tend to evaporate rather quickly.
If you hang out in the right circles there's a growing sentiment that the military is more progressive than is traditionally thought. This is, sadly, not an inaccurate assessment, but also very, very incomplete. The military as a whole is one of the most socialized parts of American culture and is thus an attractive job for people wanting to game benefits. Where this goes sideways is that people who go into the military solely for the money and benefits don't join the less than 20% of the military that actually faces the bullets, they go into staff or technical work (see Buttigieg's 'combat' experience). The kind of people that actively seek out the sharp end of the military are not those that are going to find common cause with Antifa.
Combat arms are generally the rightist of the army.
MI is generally center leaning either. Signals is...well they exist.

I would not call this lynching, and you really should edit that. Words mean shit, and using accurate labels matter.
'Lynching' implies that the victim is dead, and that is not the case here.
Call it assault, calling it attempted murder could easily justified; calling it a 'lynching' is rather...overreaching for shock value.
And do not confuse my critizism of your word choices for any sort of approval of those shitbags actions.

Attempted Lynching maybe? I mean whats the word when a Mob does their level best to kill you painfully in pursuit of a form of 'mob justice' ? Honestly asking because not sure what onother word for it is when stuff like that is done by a large group in the open publically.

Calling it an assault and attempted murder is accurate, easily justifiable, doesn't depend on numbers of perps, and doesn't try to rely on 'shock value' when the event is shocking enough.

I am calling it a lynching because that is what it looks like when a bunch of people gang up on a supposed criminal like that. Here is another bigger video of the debacle.
Antifa claims he tried to run people over. The video and other witnesses however claim he had interfered on a robbery attempt on a woman/his girlfriend and they ganged up on him. He has been taken to the hospital but his current status is unknown. Given he was beaten by a large group, stomped and there was chunky marinara sauce on the pavement I would say it's likely he had some cranial trauma.

Really, this exposes the true nature of the protesters. You can't even do or be the right thing in these people's eyes and avoid a beating.
Same with their ideological fellow travelers. Sure, they claim to have ideas to solve economic problems. "Oh, just tax the rich, just nationalize industries, just use the money to establish a welfare state." Not when it comes to cultural issues, though. They have no plan, they just want to throw a years-long hissy fit.
Call it an assault, call it attempted murder, call the actions of a violent, vandal filled mob, and you would be correct.
Calling it a lynching is overreaching, inaccurate, and seems like you are doing it for shock value, not accuracy.
Words have meanings, and this is many things, but is not a 'lynching'.
What is the definition of a lynching?
Well, it usually involves a noose and an actual murder, not just kicks to the head till unconscious and robbery. That actually sounds more like a gangland beef, though is not totally fitting here.
'Lynching' usually also implies racial tones. That's sort of present here, in a weird way, but more of the 'kill whitey and Uncle Tom's' type than the Klan type.
I get the emotional impluse to label this a 'lynching' because of how brutal and bad this event was. But we need to use accurate descriptions and words, or we well fall into the same rhetorical pits the Left has.

Historically not just blacks were lynched, though in the popular imagination it connotes the lynching of black men, particularly in the South.
Obviously this did occur, it also occurred in the west. Hispanics got lynched, Chinese got lynched, and yes Whites were lynched.
