The only casualty was not Trump’s rep, but their own credibility with anyone outside of the Beltway.

Right now, the American people are seeing chaos. But chaos does not necessarily play against Trump in the long term. Biden is trapped, trying to nuance his unsteady carcass through the conflict between the Democrats’ “’Defund the Police’ means ‘Reform the Police’” faction and the “No, ‘Defund the Police’ really means ‘Defund the Police’” faction. All the while, Trump is tweeting “LAW AND ORDER!”

I am incredibly skeptical of the article's assessment of Trump being a genius, mostly because it's way to easy to let that kind of thing lead you into the madness of "Trump is a 4D chess player who's going to BTFO everyone", but I do think he's playing this smartly. The more this shit festers, the more stuff comes out that the media either can't cover up or has to justify at the cost of alienating sane people.

Also, on sheer principle, I find Trump denying the leftist media what it wants to be a satisfying goal in and of itself.
