United States George Floyd Protests, Reactions and Riots

This hurts hard for me. My family came from that area, some still live around that area. At least for now.

This is not how I wanted the Twin Cities to be remembered.

I'm sorry man, I don't think there's much that can be done. These idiots are the overwhelming majority and what's worse? I think they'll easily forget or ignore who caused the majority of the damage even when there are outright videos and pictures of the riots themselves and shows of what the Far Left Government and Activists are/were doing.

Only hope is that people are prepared and armed for the next riots that will come from these folks

You're not white right?

Let me, you and @CarlManvers2019 go to US and NTR the white male husbands with their wife. If they complain, we cry racism.

Lets do it!! These cuckolds are more liable to bow before us and wash our feet then fight back 😈
Naw they're feminists by and large. I'll avoid the false accusations and likley herpes.

Harlock

I should have expected that really
The Lockdown calculation is easy, is it worse to allow potentially thousands of new cases just when it is getting under control, or to appear on the news breaking up these protests?

You have your answer, spineless leaders would rather toss aside the sacrifices and hardships normal people have carried because they can't stand up to these people. It invalidates the entire point of a lockdown and shows there is one rule for one set of people and no rules for others.

Enforce it for everyone or don't enforce it at all. For all the yelling about an unjust society holy shit the irony is so dense you could build a bridge out of it.

I don't see any actual video in that tweet, just a claim that there is one, so I'm reserving judgement on that.

With that caveat, this is really reminding me of the Rodney King riots. TV just showed the few seconds of King being beaten over and over again while the Jury saw the full video, with King high as a kite on PCP and tossing the cops around in a drug-fueled rage before they were able to take him down by surrounding and beating him down.

And the resulting riots were very similar...

Honestly it doesn’t matter, the people who wanted to use this for subversive purposes already have the reason they need. The people that believe their rhetoric will never be swayed.

If this information had come out earlier-like a week ago, before the propaganda spin and unrest had entered high gear, it might have prevented this. But now it’s mox nix.

Plus, they’re already using any police action and use of the armed forces as a sign of how oppressive the USA is. More “martyrs” that way.

Well, unless they’re bending the knee and doing TikTokVids and those are really just getting them all to see the police and armed forces as human....well right until they start getting them to wash their feet

I'd be willing to bet most of the people rioting have never even heard of George Floyd.

If those theories of most of this being "coordinated", well even aside from that theory, I'm pretty sure many of your Far Left types were more-or-less just waiting for an opportunity or reason to start the "revolution"

That and people like to loot and break stuff

Honestly I think that the people who the far left are really angry at is the democratic party.

They wanted Bernie to win, we have them saying on camera that if he didn't win they would burn the country this is them keeping that promise. Its a problem for all of us of course but you know good luck fixing it.

I’m guessing they want to hit their politicians too, they’re actually aware they live in Democrat cities, they just believe that their Far Left as NOT GONE FAR ENOUGH

This is insane; local governments are openly siding with rioters, and refusing to equally apply the law. As long as you do it in the name of Black Lives Matter, it seems like you can get away with pretty much anything. If this isn't the precursor to some form of civil war, I don't know what could be. Riots are one thing, but this? This is open insurrection by elected government officials. Something is going to come from all this, and I don't think our country can deal with it peacefully.

Meanwhile in Chicago it seems the mayor has decided to save downtown at the expense of the neighborhoods except not all the aldermen are happy to let their areas burnt to ash:

There's the full call in the article but this is a transcript of it:
“We can’t expect our police, and I don’t fault them at all, to be able to control this,” he said. “Half our neighborhoods are already obliterated. It’s too late.”

Lopez said he feared looters would eventually start targeting homes after ransacking businesses throughout the city.

“Once they’re done looting and rioting and whatever’s going to happen tonight, God help us, what happens when they start going after residents? Going into the neighborhoods? Once they start trying to break down people’s doors, if they think they’ve got something,” he said.

“We know that people are here to antagonize and incite, and you’ve got them all pumped tonight, today. They’re not going to go to bed at 8 o’clock. They’re going to turn their focus on the neighborhoods. I’ve got gang-bangers with AK-47s walking around right now, just waiting to settle some scores. What are we going to do, and what do we tell residents, other than good faith people stand up? It’s not going to be enough,” Lopez added.

When Lopez finished talking on the conference call, Lightfoot declined to respond, and tried to move on to another alderman, but Lopez demanded an answer.

“It’s not something you ignore. This is a question that I have,” Lopez said.

That’s when the call turned profane.

“I think you’re 100% full of s***, is what I think,” Lightfoot said.

Lopez was infuriated.

“F*** you, then. Who are you to tell me I’m full of s***?” he said. “Maybe you should come out and see what’s going on.”

The mayor vehemently denied protecting downtown at the expense of the neighborhoods.

“If you think we’re not ready, and we stood by and let the neighborhoods go up, there’s nothing intelligent that I could say to you,” she said. “That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I understand you want to preen.”

“Mayor, you need to check your f***ing attitude. That’s what you need to do,” Lopez shot back.

At that point, several other aldermen interjected in an effort to calm nerves, with one alderman telling Lopez, “Ray, cut it out, please. Calm down, please.”

For reference that mayor was the same mayor who forced lockdowns on her city for a long period of time then had a hairdresser do her hair privately because "I'm in front of cameras therefore I need to look good".

to be fair saving the economically vibrant parts of your city will make it easier to rebuild the rest of it. That's one of those shit judgement calls that might be nessary.
