Tanks wouldn't do anything to help.
They enemy have molotovs and they aren't afraid to use them.
Tanks can't fire back because of ROE.

And this might just end up into another Tiananmen Tank Man scenario.
Not good press.

What we are facing are a bunch of idiots so absorbed in their ideology they don't give a shit about anything else.
The only thing that will stop these rampaging thugs is people with loaded guns in front of their business.
Because at the end of the day, these losers are all cowards who target people who can't fight back.
You do know Molotovs don't work as well against modern tanks right? They are made to be able to withstand CBRN environment, and flames. Lots of flames.

And the diffrence being, An Abrams will stop for someone. They won't run the person over no matter what.

they will just have the soldiers move the person forcibly.
TTif.someone gets run over by the tank,, it is thier fucking faultq
Well, Riot are always violent, dangerous things, even for bystanders.
I wonder if we’ll get people trying to start riot again for this over there...
Yall riot yearly for no reason...

Then you get Rittenhouse.

Well you could use them for that if you don't care about casualties or PR, they can run over most obstacles and barricades.

Yes and no. They can run things over, but that's not usually the issue with riot control, and if you need to ran through a barricade I'm fairly sure most riot control trucks or armored cars have the horsepower for that, you don't need a tank.

The only think a tank brings to the table is firepower and armored, neither of which are useful. BLM doesn't have anti tank weapons, and a tank cannon's firepower is totally excessive for riot control, even if everything's gone wrong you have no choice but to employ lethal force, against rioters a few machine guns will be more than enough.

We're basically in a low grade Civil War/Soviet style collapse.
I view it as a cold civil war.

It's mostly a cultural war still at this point, but there are major political battles happening.

And the conservatives/right are losing, badly.

One thing to keep in mind when you see people like me saying "they stole the election," is that we aren't being hyperbolic. In our views a hostile power rigged an election, stole the presidency, and is currently holding the Capitol under military rule with thousands of soldiers.

This isn't hyperbole. This is reality to those of us who believe the election was stolen. We aren't just saying it to make a point. We mean that an enemy of the United States rigged and stole an election, LITERALLY.

Because of the leadership and the refusal to re-evaluate opinions held. You cannot square the full throated support for Capitalism/Big Business with Family Values, for one major point, but that is for another thread.
I edited my post btw, I see your quote is pre-edit.

Not that it changes your reply. But I wanted you to see the full post.

Taco Bell is my favorite fast food joint (well, them and Taco Time), and I've never had any problems after eating their food.
The last time I ate at Taco Bell...... Let's just say I was out of work for a week and had to go to the hospital and leave it at that. You don't want the graphic details.

While obviously using the guard to try and clear the area or actually enforce the curfew would have issues and they're, as noted, basically security guards in uniform, surely they could still be used better than this? Why not use them them cordon off an area and trap the rioters in that pocket, the have the cops move in and arrest them? Riot tourists are a well known thing, if someone would just jail these people and keep them locked up, that would do a lot to limit the chaos.

There's like three roads leading to the Police Station and for whatever reason the National Guard parked like a single Humvee to block the incoming traffic on two of the three roads. The third road weaves through some apartments and that's where everyone was streaming in, cars parked on both sides.

After the crowd was dispersed a few hours after curfew, someone apparently grew a brain and just blocked off the main roads at least from both ends with lines of Humvees. There were some extra LEO vehicles earlier on and it seemed like they were going to kettle them all in, but I guess a thousand or so protesters/rioters was too much for whatever they were planning.

Drove through there again recently and the looted shopping complex from two days ago, the latter just has most of the businesses boarded up and everything has been cleaned up with all of the broken glass covered by wooden boards. The police station doesn't have much personnel there atm but it'll probably ramp up again as we get closer to sunset. There wasn't much of a crowd atm either but that was the same as yesterday.

Course the weather is kinda miserable atm as well. Wintry mix of rain and snow and some wind.

The right lost in the USA once hart-cellar and the civil rights bill were enacted. Right now you just see the mopping up. This century is going to be a dark age.

Anyways in other news.

Officer Rusten Sheskey, the Kenoshaofficer who shot and paralyzed an unarmed (well except for the knife) Black Man named Jacob Blake for resisting arrest and returning to his vehicle, was exonerated for the shooting, neither charged for a crime nor internal punishment issued.

Makes one wonder if these unfortunate victims would still be well if they didn't resist arrest and try to climb back into their vehicles to escape arrest. 🤔

Course they probably wouldn't be so concerned with police interactions if they didn't have prior warrants issued for their arrests, like how Jacob Blake had a warrant for third degree sexual assault, trespassing and disorderly conduct related to domestic abuse... but alas... doesn't everyone have a few felonies and outstanding warrants nowadays?
