They just want to headbang, grill, and live their lives. I can sympathize with that, but I am a political animal. I wish to be involved in public affairs, as it is my duty, my obligation, my right and my privilege to do so.

That's the nicest version of that song I've heard - the other two versions I had heard were done by a woman who was trying to emulate Billie Holliday's style too much and as a drinking song by a bunch of drunks.
It is pretty nice. I am not sure a song about freedom of thought should be recorded as a drinking song. Sung as one by normal people, yes.

It wasn't a song record per se, it was part of a listening comprehension exercise, back when I was studying German. The teacher then brought the pseudo-Billie Holiday version to show us what the song was about.

I dunno about capacity to do so (frankly I doubt it) but I'm fairly certain that if someone were to kidnap or murder Wheeler it would very much be illegal to pay them for it. Hell depending on how the law is like the poster might be illegal too but that would depend on if they could pretend it's not a call to kill him because of the reward's size.
still this is a lesson to every one else you can not appease them you can not make them happy no matter what you do they will come for you.
