Ahmaud Arbery Killers Convicted in Federal Civil-Rights Trial | National Review

I can't really find fault with Andy's reasoning here. "You have said racist things, therefore you had racist motives in this specific case" is certainly possible, perhaps even plausible. But plausible is not the same as proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

On top of this, I'd argue that since they were already dealt with by the state and convicted of murder, having the federal government charge them is just wasting time and money.

Tim pool talked about it some.

A string of burglaries. The police showed a picture of the guy to locals saying he was a suspect. A gun was stolen from one of the sites. They spot the guy at night and try to citizen arrest. The suspect charges a guy that had a shotgun. They scuffle. The burglary suspect ends up shot. One of them was just following and video taped most of it. They are charged and then charges dropped. People start accusing them of murder and racism. The recording guy releases the recording to prove they didn't do anything illegal. The state jumps on the recording and uses it to press charges again. It sticks this time. The state includes everyone in on the charges so the person that didn't do anything but tape things is charged same as the others as a group. The Kyle trial is at the same time so this trial gets no coverage. They convinced everyone it was blatant racism and murder. Even outlets like fox point to this as proof that they aren't racist, see people getting life for killing a black guy!!! According to the actual law these guys might get a few minor charges but they were treated the way everyone feared Kyle would be and they were horrifically overcharged and slandered. The jury bought it and now they have life in prison for trying to neighborhood watch their area during a burglary spree.

I wouldn't be surprised if neighbourhood watches end up simply dropping bodies and covering for each other whenever the robber's remains are found. Like, this kind of stuff pushes one side into compliance and the other into making sure no one can talk when they dish out the punishment.

Hey, isn't this how gangs start?
Yes, that is explicitly how the crips and bloods formed, and many other gangs throughout history.

and the mafia and lots of other groups, when a government refuses to protect people you get vigilanti justice instead.

I'm already disinclined to believe this guy, but its interesting to hear him admit that they don't give people nearly enough time to react, even when they do a normal "knock, announce" serve (all of 15 seconds), and that the "extra time" they gave for Breonna Taylor (allegedly) to react as a "heavy-set" woman was all of 30 seconds more than usual. From being asleep. :cautious:

He admits that it's also a common practice of criminals to pound on the door and announce themselves as police to get them to open the door so they can rob them. He also admitted that they were there in "plain clothes," though he insists that wearing tactical vests that said "police" on them should have made up for that, apparently forgetting that anyone can pick something like that up from a surplus store.

Tim needs to bring on people who were the victims of No Knock Warrants that hit the wrong house. Their are a ton of cases out there. But Tim won't because it would make his subscribers angry at him. His subs have a disturbing amount of Jack Boot Authoritarians in them.

BLM co-founder: Charity transparency laws are 'triggering'

To be extremely generous, this could be meant more in the sense of "it's hard to actually do anything when people are constantly asking you about paperwork, and having to deal with that constantly wears on you and damages the organization".

But in light of the fact that BLM decided to address that issue by just not filing that paperwork or doing anything at all with the money they took in, I'm pretty sure that my generous reading here was far too nice to them.
