It is once again time to commence hostilities. From Software just dropped the Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon trailer:

And it's been a long time coming. Honestly, while I enjoy all the Soulsborne game, From Software has always been more of a mecha vidya game developer to me, since it was the Armored Core series that I knew them first from and I played more of their mecha titles along with AC (Another Century Episode, Metal Wolf Chaos, Murakumo, Frame Gride, Chrome Hounds etc.) than their non-mecha games.

@Pocky Balboa the subtitle of Fires of Rubicon is historical funnily enough... Roman Caesar vibes anyone?

Not necessarily. I mean, in AC4 and For Answer, Anatolia's Mercenary (the AC4 player character) and the independent colony Anatolia had nothing to do with Asia Minor, not even any sort of cultural reference or influence from the area (hell, not even the buildings in the colony, which were some sort of Tudor/Elizabethan era mix). I wouldn't be surprised if its another colony or such with no relation to the actual Rubicon.

I don't care about the Gamer Awards or whatever it's called but I saw this video of Christopher Judge of Stargate fame winning best performance for God of War: Ragnarok.

It was a sweet speech and he actually seemed pretty touched by it all. Long speech too... No lameass orchestras right away, he was actually able to tell some stories.

And Al Pacino is one of the presenters lol. Seems random.

  1. I agree he is wholesome and actually deserves the award.
  2. I don't think as Pacino as that random... IT SEEMS that is only "relevant" ENOUGH to do this kind of...gigs.

That was a good video recommendation. It seems kinda obvious, the subject matter, but she was able to flesh and fill it out quite a bit, breaking it down and explaining the why of it all and how it got to be that way instead of just stating the obvious. Also some of those indie horror titles are so blah that I never even heard of them before.

And I agree with what she implied. MatPat and Game Theory must DIE IN A FIRE!

Okay she didn't actually say that, but I will.

Lord help me, I just spent over a hundred bucks on BattleTech minatures and I haven't played in like 20 years. Knew that humble bundle was bad news (for my wallet).

I could send you some links if you are into 3d printing and coloring your own miniatures...

I have yet to dip a toe into 3d printing but I do want to paint some minifigs and back in the day everything was made of lead so I'm not used to painting plastic/resin so links are welcome. I played Battletech in the 80's/90's but fell out of it when I moved to Scotland; really feeling the game lately and have been indulging myself a bit so I now have like a couple dozen unpainted figures lol. Have to decide on a paint scheme or two.

I do quite a bit of 3D printing. It's a tremendous money saver, I can typically print a BT mini for around 35 cents. Less if it's a Locust.

I think I may make 3D printing a future hobby to explore but I just dropped like $500 on this hobby between buying paints, figures, ect... I used to paint back back in the 90's but I had nothing to start with so a little Christmas gift to myself has been a set of paints and brushes and a wet pallet. We'll see if I feel proud enough to share some work sooner or will wait until I don't suck so much. But I expect it will be a relaxing thing to do during these winter months and I'm looking forward to starting - I think I will just see what I like for color and do a custom lance to get started. Then may do some House mechs for something to shoot. ;)
