Yeah, there's a group of VAs (who double as script writers and voice directers and what not) there who are complete shits, and management (quite stupidly, on their part) won't discipline them appropriately. That's not actually synonymous with doing that being company policy. I know that probably sounds like splitting hairs, but I prefer to assess blame in both degree and kind rather than treating everything as an indifferent mass.
If the people who are running the company are doing it, or are at the very least not disciplining the people who have been doing it, then it is company policy.
I'm talking about the injecting politics issue, mind you. On the censorship bit... Are you talking about actually censoring works, or simply about them not wanting anything to do with erotica?
Both. Sony started getting in the news for censorship due to how they have handled publishing of games, which is to say they either refuse to publish them, or censor the hell out of them in order to "localize" it, or if this is too much for them to bother with, they simply refuse to publish it. This is anything they might consider anything remotely "erotic" whether it actually is or not. Hell, they apparently consider a plunging neckline to be "erotic.
And with what they've done to RightStuf, I'm already pretty mad at them. I wouldn't be surprised if some time down the line this new website is shut down, and anyone who wants to purchase the type of products that have been shuffled onto it will have to look at directly importing it, which can be a very difficult or impossible. The upshot is that Sony and the leftists running it are setting themselves up to be gatekeepers.
