Well, this will have interesting consequences.

I expect they'll either pull out of India voluntarily, or get sued to bits. Hopefully they'll literally get sued out of business, not just out of all operations in India.
 
Meh, still a mixed bag for me. Kinda don't like the some bits of the new laws. Sorta worried they will extend that to even private message group as like Telegram. Whatsapps still a lost cause in my book.

It is a mixed bag but this is on twitter overreaching and showing their true colours.

True, and screw them just on principal I suppose and all that. But as a India who honestly doesn't know a single person that uses Twitter the laws a bit more of a worry.

The tech companies have claimed the rights of both publishers and platforms.

If their going to act like a publisher with all of their censorship bullshit then they can pay the conquences.

They will almost surely pull all of their physical infrastructure, employees, and corporate holdings out of India...

Because there's no way they can actually follow that law.

Eh, no one else would hold them accountable, or had the ability to if they did want to.

Trump is in the unique position to actually make an attempt that might stick, and won't be in the hands of Congress or the Executive branch. He's also doing it before the main Rep campaigns kick off, so it will likely be in play during the mid-terms.

No idea how it's all going to play out, but I suspect we are in for one hell of a ride as a nation. I expect this to go to SCOTUS, and well...the Dems may try to pack it if they think it's headed that way.

My understanding is that criticizing israel is not illegal. What is illegal in some places is for someone who works in government (e.g. as a teacher) to be part of or promote the BDS Movement, or other Movements critical of israel.

The law exists because the gope is extremely pro-israel and philosemitic, for a variety of reasons.
