So both do the job. I am interested in whatever can make these kind of devices " not functioning " without getting close to them.
That might do the trick when you are in a building but in the street it is useless mostly.

I mean, sensors are really easy to mess up.
Thermals? Mud.

cameras? Paint.
And having hundreds of thise kind of robots would be a horrible idea because you would he having such a decent chunk of the electromagnetic spectrum being used as once in a small area, easy to just...overhwelm it.

If it is shooting bullets at you, it can't be anything that requires you to approach it physically.
Shooting bullets from an unstable platform, that can't use human instinct to know if a situation would make ot able to be useful.
Best bet, shoot jt back.
Other options is lure it into a kill box, or room with an entrance that it can't just walk in, and if it uses its arm, very unstable and easy to ambush.

Those MIT dog bots have already been hooked up to weapons, and with the massive recruitment challenges facing many western militaries, you can bet they are furiously working on robotic boots to put on the ground.

Because we do not have the capability for robots to act independently of a remote control or some sort of basic control tethered to that of a human.
Add in the fact we do not have any robots advanced enough, or close enough to having any that can reasonably clear a house without being easily disabled.
A robot won't check for booby traps.
Plus robots that would need to be nimble enough to do these things wouldn't really have any meaningful protection on them, making even shrapnel dangerous
Still could be used in wave attacks on war and beating people during manifestations.

The technology is rapidly expanding, if you don't think every major military contractor in the world is working on these you're delusional.
They will get more durable and more nimble. Shrapnel? You think some shrapnel is a problem? That'll kill a person. A robot? Put some armor on it. Or send another.
As for blocking sensors and cameras? We already have tech where there could be a control drone or drones feeding them data, or they could work off the sensors on one of the other units. So you take one out? Redundancy. All it takes is a math equation and that thing is functioning again.
You take the sight out on one with a tarp? Cool, it can read the info from another one, or, crazy idea, remove the tarp. Or one of the others can remove it.
This is just an engineering issue. The technology currently exists.
This is going to be a major part of future warfare. The tech is still young, but it's expanding rapidly.
