How the fuck would that save the planet? Chinese factories are notoriously polluting, and even if they were equal in regards to the environment shipping products across the sea uses fuel which would have some pollution. So there would be less pollution if you buy local since there would be less transportation.
1. Slave labor instead of machines.
2. Lack of transparency in voodoo statistics.
"Our company has low carbon footprint. All the local party officials said so. All the documents say so. No, you can't see our factory. Are you accusing the party officials of lying?"

Don’t look at what they say, look for why they’re saying it.

I believe the Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos. Jeff Bezos owns Amazon. Amazon makes a lot of its money selling cheap Chinese crap that they can warehouse and get to your door quickly. Amazon making more money selling Chinese crap means Jeff Bezos is making more money.

Therefore, the Washington Post shilling Chinese made products to the “green” crowd potentially makes Jeff Bezos more money.

Shit like this makes sense when you realize it’s not really about any principles or ethics. It’s all about money and who is, and is not, making it.

Most likely, China is getting desperate. Manufacturing was the only thing keeping their economy afloat, without that they are nothing. It's easy to bribe reporters though.

It never was about pollution.
Yes, shipping manufacturing to china increases pollution.
They will stand there and boldly lie and claim it decreases pollution instead. because shipping it to china fits their agenda

There are three overlapping reasons why such blatant lies get published:

A: Journalist are generally ignorant of the topic they write about
B: All journalism is propaganda and Bezos Post has vested interest in supporting China
C: Environmentalism is whatever supports the current thing

Fellas, remind me again on how many of these dumbass environmentalists' doomsday predictions archived on the Extinction Clock have hit the mark?
