Five minutes of hate news

Very interesting article on who is really to blame for California water problems.

I am suprised, that you are suprised. In Dem ruled states basically all problems except tornados are made by them.
Why Commiefornia should be different?

NSA's DEi Glossary leaked by the way. Some fun tidbits.
white fragility: The state in which even a minimum amount of racial stress becomes intolerable, triggering a range of defensive moves [in white people]. These moves include the outward display of emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and behaviors such as argumentation, silence, and leaving the stress-inducing situation. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium. Racial stress results from an interruption to what is racially familiar (DiAngelo 2018).
sizeism: The mistreatment of or discrimination against people based upon their perceived (or selfperceived) body size or shape.
settler colonialism: Refers to colonization in which colonizing powers create permanent or long-term settlement on land owned and/or occupied by other peoples, often by force. This contrasts with colonialism where colonizer's focus only on extracting resources back to their countries of origin, for example. Settler Colonialism typically includes oppressive governance, dismantling of indigenous cultural forms, and enforcement of codes of superiority (such as white supremacy). Examples include white European occupations of land in what is now the United States, Spain's settlements throughout Latin America, and the Apartheid government established by White Europeans in South Africa.
racism (structural): A system in which public policies, institutional practices, cultural representations, and other norms work in various, often reinforcing ways to perpetuate racial group inequity. It identifies dimensions of our history and culture that have allowed privileges associated with "whiteness" and disadvantages associated with "color" to endure and adapt over time. Structural racism is not something that a few people or institutions choose to practice. Instead, it has been a feature of the social, economic, and political systems in which we all exist
My favorite, and the most 'entertaining'.
privileged group member: A member of an advantaged social group privileged by birth or acquisition, i.e., Whites, men, owning class, upper-middle-class, heterosexuals, gentiles, Christians, non-disabled individuals

Honestly it is so absurd you would think it is a troll. Yet we live in clown world so it seems true.

There is also a lot of redundancy. NSA, the USA govt's official National Security Agency, officially views the following as enemies of the USA:
> all men
> all non jews
> all christians
> all white skinned people
> all heterosexuals
> all non disabled
> all property owners
> all middle class or higher

Christians are by definition non jews so that is 100% overlap.
some of the other groups have 90%+ overlaps.

Basically the only group not to be intentionally attacked by the NSA is :
"poor disabled jewish black LGBTQP women"
I am not sure any of those actually exist.

No, it just defines these people as "privileged". Take your meds.

>Dumps endless tons of drinking water into the ocean yearly
"Climate change must be why we're out of water..."
Fuck I hate California.
Eh, guys, this instance is CA and the whole south west coming to grips with the fact the numbers and estimations made in the Colorado River Compact were from an abnormally wet period with environmental context that is not the norm for this region in the long term.

There is a reason the Colorado no longer flows to the ocean any more, and it's not just Cali's bad governance at fault.

Until the entire region comes to grips with the real flows of the river, and deal with water accordingly (get alternate sources, mostly) there will continue to be a general misconception about the real availability of water in the entire Colorado River Basin.

There's also that California's water retention efforts are garbage.

I knew someone that lived there a while ago. They had torrential rains and flooding for a bit and then immediately went back to drought conditions because California has done nothing to retain any of the water. It just immediately drains into the ocean.

There are a great many infrastructure projects that could be done that could keep that water around and usable for much longer but it never gets done. Just permanent drought conditions with occasional flooding.
