Make more sense if they were demanding that she tell them their names, seeing as she never gave them one. Then again, they never developed to the point where they had mouths, so I'm not sure how they're communicating in the first place. Ghost telepathy? Also, how are they even cognizant enough to communicate? It just doesn't make sense if you think about it for more than a few moments, unless they continued to develop into fully cognizant beings in the after life, in which case what point is there to life? I mean I don't know about you, but growing up in heaven sounds a lot cooler than growing up here on earth; maybe their mom did them a favor.

If I'm understanding this correctly the dead are the true Humanity. After all, the vast, vast, vast majority of humankind is dead, and the Wights are so ancient and powerful that they can probably interact with other godlike beings in planes of existence beyond our comprehension. From their perspective, the living are just larvae, and what we think of as "death" is just a metamorphosis into our adult form.

Most portrayals of the afterlife either have the dead be exactly the same as the living, or be evil monsters. In this world though, they are simply alien. Its actually one of the most optimistic takes on life after death I've run into. Its got a bit of Mormonism, a bit of Hinduism, and a bit of scifi transhumanism all mixed together.

I wonder; are the Wights worshiped as gods in this world? Everyone probably makes contracts with them to ensure an afterlife for themselves, and they're powerful enough to shape the world for the benefit of those they favor, so it seems likely.

Yeah, that's exactly what I saw it as. I actually do think it would be kind of cool if they'd found a way to give her grandma that money so she could get her house fixed up, though. Be pretty damn good if the same people she and others accuse of being deplorables raised money to fix up her grandma's house when she wouldn't. If I had the kind of money AOC has, you're fuckin'-a-right I'd hire some people to help them finish remodeling their house that they're already just in the middle of doing themselves, let alone if they'd suffered through some kind of natural disaster. Or, you know, move them to a place that isn't trashed by a hurricane.

AOC makes like > 3 times mean US income just in her congressional income. She can take care of her own grandmother. If dumb boomers pony up the cost, that's more money in AOC's pocket. We ought to be taking care of our own vulnerable, not our enemies.

There's countless Trump supporters who answered the call on Jan 6th and other political prisoners who are in need of financial aid, countless of our own people out of work because of democrat shutdowns, there are people who live paycheck to paycheck who's livelihood and children are endangered by democrat and antifa attacks against them. Donating money to AOC is inexcusable and Matt Walsh and the Daily Wire should be ashamed.

Maybe, maybe not. Personally, I suspect they’d have more then enough targets with the far left that someone who’s on the saber end of the spectrum would slip under the radar.

Eventually yes, but not for at least a year or three I’d think. More then enough time for cooler heads to prevail. Never mind that outside of maybe, maybe one or two places I don’t think we’ll have people burned at the stake or the like.
