Controversial chief of NYPD sergeants union resigns after FBI raids union’s Manhattan headquarters, searches his Long Island home

While the details of the investigation were not revealed, an FBI spokeswoman confirmed to The News that the agency was “carrying out a law enforcement action in connection with an ongoing investigation” into the Sergeants Benevolent Association.

The Sergeants Benevolent Association in the last has supported the Trump Campaign and been deeply critical of NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio, and other city and police leadership during the Pandemic and George Floyd Race Riots.
 
I wonder. What dirt does the FBI have on them?

The FBI doesn't target other members of law enforcement unless it's such a slam dunk that the odds of a getting a conviction are "yes".

Lol I was going to say "they probably supported Trump" before I even clicked the fucking thread.

Even if they did find something, they were likely only looking because of the Trump support.

Anyone denying that the FBI is working for the Democrats at this point is blind. This wouldn't surprise me in the slightest bit if I'm right.

I think it's too soon to figure if this was legit or not.

The corruption in NYC and the NYPD is so deep I could believe there might be legit reasons to go after people in the SBA.

It could also be another political hit job motivated by their support for Trump.

Until we know more, my money is on: they were looking into them because they supported Trump, but probably found something meaningful while they were looking.

So they can simultaneously be the left's weapon, while actually finding some shady shit going on.

My first instinct is good, I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out that a public sector union in a very corrupt city was corrupt. I'll adjust that view as more info c I mes out
 
The assuredly-corrupt bureaucracy has raided the probably-corrupt bureaucracy, alleging corruption in their bureaucracy.
