Fallout Fallout General Thread - War, War Never Changes. Nor do game engines.

I did a bit of research on Pre War food for the military. I went with what I remember from the time period the games take inspiration from.

A single MCI meal, Meal Combat Individual weighs in at 1.2 kg and packs 5000 kcalories of energy.

Thus a days ration will weigh in at 3.6kg.

Water.... Go with 0.5 Liter can. Each can weighing in at .5kgs Thus a days water will run 4kg.s

7.6kgs a day for food and water.

Would that work as a currency base in Fallot?

It would make sense that the gun runners are in the NV area, yes.

It does not make sense that they'd be in the NV area selling piles of iconic, unique weapons from the first and second game. Specific, named, unique guns (though the base game had "That Gun", so the DLC was really just making things worse).
That Gun (.223 Pistol) was only a unique in FO1, it became commonplace in FO2 for...Some reason!
I don't recall any NV weapon being a FO1/2 unique, and the only FO1/2 weapon I can think of as being unique is kinda-sorta the alien blaster, the mega power fist (FO2 exclusive) and maybe a couple other obscure stuff.

Stuff like the Bozar and other fancy weapons were rare, but not uniques in FO2.

The Gun Runners who were introduced in FO1 manufacture pre war ballistic weapons and they had grown to be a lot larger and better organized by the time of Fallout 2. The van Graffs their rivals manufacture pre war energy weapons, basically there is an actual civilization on the west coast. Its not post apocalyptic anymore, its post post apocalyptic.

Strictly speaking it's very unlikely the Gunrunners would make a .223 pistol. Because the .223 pistol is a one-of-a-kind modification of an exceedingly rare (one off itself?) .223 revolving rifle.
The only users of it was some guy in FO1 and potentially the Vault Dweller.

I forget but did Vegas have any guns that used the 44-40 cartridge? It is a classic cowboy cartridge and revolvers and repeaters were made that used it.

My god, she's doing a Johnny Bravo build.

This will be glorious.

Oh this looks like it'd be funny. Chad New Vegas versus Virgin Fallout 3 writing. Comparing the shallow dialogue and characterization of Fallout 3 characters, especially the ending, with the far deeper conversations and character development you get with companions and NPC's in Fallout: New Vegas.

😳

Whoa there, you can't just drop those references into a meme video... I wasn't emotionally prepared for Death!

*watches it again*

Gotta love how Todd added three whole damned 'immune to radiation' companions and each one has a laughably inexcusable excuse for not getting into the radiation room.
Especially Charon, who's contract forces him to do ANYTHING you demand because he's a brainwashed slave. Oh and the radiation would've HEALED him instead of hurting.

Does anyone else find Endurance to be particularly OP in New Vegas?
-Only real source of poison resistance (not too many poisons ingame but Cazadores are always nasty) except for Old World Blues heart perks
-More HP
-More implants, with 8 END being enough to use basically all of em
CHA is obviously the 'lol why use it?' stat, but even the other useful stats seem a lil underwhelming in comparison. Strength particularly is safe to keep around 5-6.

IMO luck and intelligence are the two most useful followed by endurance and strength.

See, I agree 100% with the luck SPECIAL being at 9 or 10.
But INT only needs to be as high as you need for you to get 100 in the skills you want (or all of them, if you really like minmaxxing).

Anyone here play New California?
I really enjoyed my Enclave playthough of it.
Might do a NCR one to tie into New Vegas
