Apparently "journalist" Laura Loomer came at Riley Gaines, stating she was paid off by Ron DeSantis for endorsing her last June with an eleven thousand dollar payout in August (which was apparently for a speaking engagement). Laura Loomer, in excellent journalist tradition then posted the (public) Federal Election Commission records on her Twitter with hundreds of thousands followers which had Riley Gaines' home address.

Laura Loomer then deleted her original post BUT then replied with a well reasoned response.
She called Riley Gaines a Low IQ Bimbo, state she was illiterate, and state she wasn't smart again, before bragging how in the two elections she lost, she raised over $3 millions dollars, which... is a strange flex for losing elections. YMMV.

Yeah I have no idea. I haven't been following the election at all and was legitimately surprised he was apparently FIFTH out of... *checks* five candidates in a New Hampshire poll or whatever. Like I don't even know what big missteps DeSantis or his team has made. They certainly weren't big enough for me to be aware of them via social media osmosis or whatever lol.
I thought Nikki Haley and Chris Christie were just running even more generic campaigns and RDS was chugging along at second or third place or whatever.
Because he fucked up and hired a team that basically thought pandering to the shitty establishment was the way to go, so they pissed away all his good will and advantages as a candidate.

I miss the early 2000’s gaming as a whole. Might not have been perfect but it certainly had its charms
A lot less intrusive politics (you can partially blame the rise of soc-med for that one) influencing studios and designers, a focus on actually delivering a completed game and not a half-baked beta or even alpha ("early access"), and significant content was delivered by expansion packs, not DLC/micro-DLC and transactions.
One thing I've noticed is that gamers are polarized: The newest crowd, born and raised in the late 00's and '10's, likes DLC and microtransactions for even the most banal things ("Oh, a new pink skin for my gun; only £0.99! What a steal!") because that's what they brought up on; the older gaming crowd, who grew up in the early 00's or earlier, are typically against these policies because we know how badly the newer gamers are basically being screwed over.
If a developer, not even a AAA one, goes back to actually delivering completed games (aside from bug fixes and patches), releases actual expansion packs, and focuses on gameplay and design than identity politics ("Oh no, the anime girl character's chest is large and has its own physics engine! Misogyny! REEeeeee!" "...Fuck off, you Twitter bitch"), that's all they need to do so basically guarantee their game would be a success, even if it has its flaws.
